Divorce is difficult. Divorce can also be respectful. Collaborative law provides an opportunity for people in conflict to create the best possible outcome for them while holding their children as the top priority. Using a team model, the process offers couples a safe and structured environment in which to work together to resolve their dispute and reach mutually satisfactory agreements.

The collaborative process can help couples to preserve and promote the best portions of their relationship as they dissolve their union, enabling them to create their own settlement and move forward with the rest of their lives. Billie's goal is to help clients through their divorce process with financial efficiency, with their dignity and integrity intact, and to help them minimize the negative impact on their children.
Services
There are many options available to families and individuals involved in divorce (dissolution)/legal separation. These include collaborative law, mediation, and unbundled services, which are an ala carte approach to legal services. These alternatives to court action offer people the opportunity to create their own agreements, and reserve traditional litigation as a last resort.
Collaborative Law is a non-adversarial process. It is designed to enable separating couples to address their issues and disputes in a respectful and compassionate manner. Unlike traditional court actions, which can pit one party against the other and put children in the middle, Collaborative Law offers couples the opportunity to hold as a priority those things that are most important to them.
Billie's practice is limited to out-of-court settlement options. She has a Bachelor's Degree in English from the University of Washington and received her law degree from Seattle University School of Law. She has extensive training and experience in the collaborative model and other out-of-court approaches to resolving conflict.
