At Canterbury Creek Gardens, we don't sell organic products because they are trendy, we believe that simple changes like planting an organic vegetable garden, taking care of your lawn in a safe and effective way, and buying organically grown produce from responsible growers are essential parts of a better, healthier, more productive and sustainable society.

We believe that although we should all participate in the hard politics of improving our society, "the big problems that we face are really just the sum of the little mistakes that we make everyday" as Wendell Berry put it.

Our seminars are the quickest, easiest, most cost effective way to learn about organic gardening here in Northern Ohio. At a time where people try to make every minute count - it is surprising that anyone would waste years toiling in under-productive gardens without getting some solid, credible advice.
We have been getting a lot of calls and questions about our CSA programs. I thought I could answer some of the questions by showing a sample week of our Winter program (which is sold out) and demonstrating how it works. Of course, Summer CSA means our produce, organic produce, and chemical-free produce from quality local growers.
We don't just sell firewood, we heat our building with the same wood we sell. We know how important it is to use and sell quality firewood. We know that better wood means a warmer building, less wood used, less wood moved, less money spent, less maintenance and safer burning. We cover our firewood stacks because we know this makes our wood better for burning and a better value for our customers.
For 40 years I have been searching for a better way to physically support vegetable plants. I was increasingly tired of spending hours each summer tying plants to stakes, and using makeshift devices to stop branches from breaking. I was also frustrated that support systems are a cause of insect and disease problems by creating crowded foliage conditions.
Garlic will tolerate some shade but prefers full sun. It grows best in loose, well-drained, rich, loamy soil amended with lots of organic matter (1 to 2 inches of compost). Raised beds are ideal. Compacted soil produces irregularly shaped bulbs; soil that retains water, especially during the winter, will cause bulbs to rot.

Love the selection of organic fruit and definitely liked the potatoes. Cool house plants for sale and outdoor selection of plants hard to match. A diamond in the rough for sure.

My husband was texting me pictures about this place excited at all the options, I was excited myself to visit with him. 2 minutes later I’m told that a belligerent man working not only had a poor attitude upon first greeting, but acted like he was about to run a marathon getting out of his chair twice just because my husband asked him about picking a couple green tomatoes FRESH. Not only that, we wanted to buy plants as well, so it wasn’t “just getting tomatoes”. Instead of being humble, the man working proceeded to tell him they usually don’t pick anything fresh for customers, and that

This sadly was the rudest customer experience I've ever had. Plants are lovely but they need to recognize how to treat human beings. Do not yell or berate your customers just for asking a question in a polite tone.

Excellent source of organic and sustainably grown foods. Also an excellent source of knowledge regarding anything to do with growing. My family and I frequent Canterbury Creek Gardens weekly for the absolute best in organic produce, and to learn from Ron how grow foods and flora of all types the same way they do. Ron and the team are incredible. A real treasure in our community and local marketplace.
