We are Michael and Mary Ruth Hanna, founders of Mattress Lot. We started this adventure in 2010. After Michael lost his job during the Great Recession, we decided to go into business for ourselves. We had recently shopped for a new mattress and became discouraged by the high-pressure sales, the misleading gimmicks and the lack of customer service.

I always appreciate coming to Mattress Lot. Their products are thoughtful with a good combination of the compromises for different budgets. My wife and I have come back every few years when we need a mattress or new pillows and the service has always been excellent. Love to support local when I can as well.

I wish I got the name of the lady who helped me tonight so I could give her credit on here because she was SO helpful. She helped me find exactly what I needed and also helped me load my car. The store is beautiful. I love that the mattresses are non toxic as well! The mattress I got is SO comfortable. Will be back for pillows!

The mattress I've been sleeping on for the past 12 years is a beauty rest coil with 4 inches of extra foam on top. For a long time I was on a cloud! Recently (1-2 years) my lower back has been feeling like hell. After deciding it's time to get a new mattress I did plenty of research and asked many friends. I decided on a latex mattress. I'm so glad we have locally owned places like Mattress Lot in town. I had great customer service and I bought a mattress from them that was locally made in Seattle. What a great mattress store. No pressure, they follow Covid protocols. They feature many local manufacturers. They have a great selection of all kinds and brands of mattresses. There are so many choices it's easy to get confused so, our salesperson marked all our top choices for a second (or third) look. Very helpful. We have a very difficult 112 yo bungalow with 2 landings to the upstairs. The delivery guys were great!

Our experience with Mattress Lot was fantastic — easy parking, very knowledgeable, no-pressure salespeople, and a respectful delivery team. We even had our (very bored) kids with us, and they were made to feel very welcome. It’s clear this company knows what it’s doing. We also purchased two pillows designed for side sleepers, which we love (we may still return to shop the lovely bedding options!). We are very happy and would recommend the store, and their products, to everyone. Buy local!

As a retired person I had days to shop for a $2000 purchase. I checked out virtually all the stores in Salem and in some played the dickering game required to get the best price. I only checked out this store since they stocked "locally" made mattresses. I found their prices superior for similar quality mattresses.

We liked the fact that Mattress Lot relies on local companies and just bought two mattresses and a bed from them. We haven't had a chance to try out the mattresses ourselves yet, but our guests raved about the comfort of one from the company's value line. The platform bed looks beautiful in our guest room, and we were thrilled that the delivery guys assembled it for us. Delivery was great -- on time, professional, courteous and friendly. We definitely recommend them.

Very friendly and knowledgeable service. No pressure. They didn't have a product that fit my needs (I was looking for a thinner mattress for a camper) but they were honest about the options. They have a wide range of quality mattresses, most made in the PAC NW (keep in mind in many cases materials still may be foreign sourced). I would highly consider them for our next home mattress.

Two years later, the mattress that I got is still super comfortable, like I look forward to lying down in it every time! At the store they helped me assess what kind of mattress would be the most comfortable and try them. I had the idea that I wanted a firm foam mattress and came out with a soft spring mattress. I don't think I would have gotten to such a great solution without their guidance and options.

Gotta say the people here are great, we had shopped them right before this Pandemic started and wanted to have a few days to think it over and boom covid happened so we waited way to long to get back but was worthy the wait. Friendly staff with lots of beds to choose from, they go out of the way to make sure the store is clean and sanitized for people's protection along with great social distancing. Will for sure recommend them to everyone.

A month ago I purchased a queen sized mattress called the Chelsea and it has been my best mattress so far. The sales associates at the store were all very helpful and knowledgeable as I did not know the exact type of bed I wanted. They took many precautions with masks and mattress and pillow covers so that I felt safe to shop. The prices are very reasonable as well. Plus their free delivery service was amazing when they dropped it off at my door. A great place to make an important purchase.

Went today and received amazing service. I cannot recommend this place enough. The lady working was so intuitive to what I needed. Normally I'm trying out pillows for an hour trying to decide which is best. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. She immediately knew what kind of pillow I was going for. And this is the best pillow I have found for the price. Will definitely return for all my bedding needs.

If you need a mattress, go here. most of the mattresses are made locally and they hardly mark them up at all. no delivery fees for front door drop, and only $45 for in-home. the sales people aren't commissioned base so they are all very patient, accommodating, and informative. best place you can buy a mattress in portland!

I just had the best small business experience from this company. I can't recommend them enough. I ordered a king size mattress frame and unfortunately it broke. I suffer from back pain and Wanted to know what my options were for a new one. They handled it within Hours with Door to door Service. Whenever I think of this place, that Ghostbuster song comes into mind. Do do do do, who you gonna call (for a new mattress)...Mattress Lot. I've bought from here before and bought from here recently. We needed some new mattresses and I went there. We had the nicest person help us. She gave us pillows to test out the beds. I wish I had more time because I really could have used a nap! They have all the mattresses one could ask for in all price points. They have spring, memory foam, remote lift, hotel styles...who knew there were so many types.

I'm going to add an unprecedented sixth star for Mattress Lot, based on way above and beyond service: my mattress started having issues after only a year, I contacted Mattress Lot and they sent me the warranty process, and I panicked and thought "here we go, the usual mattress non-warranty" but they assured me, no, work the process and we'll advocate for you, and sure enough I was awarded a 100% credit towards a new mattress. That's right, a non-prorated warranty that actually works! Mattress Lot was all apologies for the problem with the mattress, and we had zero problem

This is another 5-star review for Mattress Lot. Perfect example of a local business that cares and provides great products. I actually had fun trying out mattresses here -- they're very low-pressure. I ended up taking about three hours to pick my mattress, including leaving after an hour for lunch so I could think about my decision further.
Delivery was quick and since I live close to the store, they offered free delivery and haul away!
I bought my mattress about six months ago and it's been holding up wonderfully. Looking forward to buying another one from them in several years.
