Bert & Rocky's was founded in 1989 by Roy (Rocky) and Roberta (Bert) in Upland, CA. The Hunter's had been long time fans of their delectable homemade ice cream. When the opportunity presented itself to purchase the business, there was little hesitation. Keeping to the Bert & Rocky's tradition, all ice cream and many of the candies, including caramel apples, chocolates, and other delicious treats are homemade.
In 1997, the Hunters were in the Ice Cream business. So many other businesses falling in love with the homemade ice cream, they developed a wholesale division selling to restaurants and other scoop shops. With such success from amazing ice cream and candy, Bert and Rocky's has since been purchased and is now run by a long-time former employee, who worked for the company so long, she became part of the Bert and Rocky's family.

For over 25 years, our ice cream chefs have created and perfected our Super Premium Ice Creams using the best ingredients. Every effort has been made to use ingredients that have been locally sourced or that are fair trade.
What is a Celebrity Scoop? We came up with the idea for a Celebrity Scoop event 16 years ago to help local schools and organizations raise money for their charities and causes. We like to refer to them as "fun" raising opportunities in which we host a group or organization for an ice cream social /fundraiser.

Customer service isn't very great. There's this rude girl that works there and she barks orders at customers. It might be the owners daughter but who knows. I'm just jumping to conclusions here but it isn't the most welcoming place. Their ice cream and treats are above average but not by much, it's not a place I would have to go to get ice cream. I just try and support small business but I'll be going less and less if customer service doesn't improve

I'm sad that samples are a thing of the past, but of course we understand. The ice cream, no matter what flavor you choose, is very good. They make their own and I've never had a bad one! I'm not even an ice cream person but if someone says Bert & Rocky's, I'm totally down. My favorite thing is to get a junior scoop and split it between two flavors. Last time I had coffee and chocolate caramel, mmm.
Unfortunately for my husband they're often out of his favorite flavor, The Elvis Special.
The caramel apples, fudge and other confections are great too. The packaged candy selection is also interesting

Oh My Goodness!!! The apples are beyond delicious. BIG & FRESH! Crisp & Juicy. The staff is great, too. We let her know that it was our 1st time here, and she patiently went over ALL the different flavors offered by the shop. (She even shared her personal favorite) The s'mores apple was so decadent. The toffee apple was tasty. And even the caramel apple was classically appetizing. Definitely coming back here. 😋 (Sorry there are no photos, they didn't last long enough.)

I cannot stress my love for this ice cream parlor enough - they have a superb selection, and all their cheesecake-based ice cream is just marvelously scrumptious! Their green tea ice cream wasn't anything to brag about though - I would stick to more traditional flavors with this place. But they know how to do those flavors RIGHT, and that's what matters. Plus the service is wonderful, and the cashiers are very kind. Oh, and their chocolate covered s'mores? AMAZING.

The ice cream flavors here are fairly traditional. The staff is very friendly and patient and I think it’s cool that they have so many traditional American sweets like cookies, brownies and candied apples. I thought the ice cream was good and for a summer time flavor you may want to try the raspberry or the blueberry cheesecake.
