Lipeng Chen is an experienced professional classical violinist available for music performance in Chicagoland, elsewhere in the US, and China. Lipeng Chen is an active classical orchestral, solo, and chamber violinist who has been performing around the world for over 22 years.
She has performed with many world-famous artists, including the eminent maestro Riccardo Muti, legendary cellist Yo-Yo Ma, violinist Pinkas Zuckerman, conductor Jaap van Zweden, Renee Flemming, solosit Joshua Bell, and others.She is a member of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra, and former associate concertmaster for the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.

Ms. Chen has been my daughter's teacher for 3 years. She is not only a talented artist but also a great teacher, encouraging and patient. Our 5 year old daughter has been taking lessons from Lipeng for about 1.5 years now, and we could not be happier with Lipeng’s instruction. She has been very accommodating with virtual FaceTime lessons during the pandemic or if we travel, and our daughter always looks forward to her lessons. Lipeng also organizes recitals at Pianoforte for her students, so they get experience playing in front of an audience. Highly recommend!

I am an adult who began piano lessons with Lipeng in January 2017 – 4 years ago – with no previous experience on any keyboard instrument. She has been an extraordinary teacher for me. Her empathy and good humor, as I slowly picked up piano skills, have greatly helped me when I tripped over my fingers. Today I am at an “intermediate” level, able to play Bach Inventions, Beethoven Sonatas, and Chopin Nocturnes (with, of course, occasional mistakes!). I continue to make progress. I play for my own inner satisfaction. I am blessed to have found such a supportive teacher and friend.

My son started piano at 4 in a group piano lab at a south loop school for a year and then started private lessons with Ms Chen when he turned 5. I am amazed of the progress he made in 6 months and I can see that he enjoys his lessons very much. I like that Ms Chen always starts on time, makes the most out of a 30mins lesson, most important to me, shows grace, professionalism and patience. I feel lucky to have found a great piano teacher right in the neighborhood.

I've been learning piano and violin under Ms. Chen's guidance for about 1 year. Both the content and the time slot are very flexible, which is a tremendous favor to adult students like me. We've also made a plan to prepare for the ABRSM piano and violin exams and keep up with it. In addition, the semiannual recitals organized by Lipeng lent me great courage and experience in on-stage performance. I think students of all levels will also benefit from the flexibility, vision, and practicality they deserve at Lipeng Chen Music.

When we searched for a Piano Teacher for our oldest daughter, we couldn't have found a better one. Her patience, knowledge, and teaching style has been exactly what our daughter needed to boost her confidence, and improve her technique. We were so pleased with Ms. Lipeng that we brought our two younger children to her as well, and she's teaching them the violin. All three of them just participated in their first competition last week, and they each did very well, all thanks to Ms.Lipeng. No matter the age or skill level, piano or violin, choose this teacher and you won't be disappointed.

Ms. Lipeng Chen has been teaching my two daughters for 6 months. She is very very patient, nice, and encouraging. Her class is fun and her teaching is effective. She helps kids to understand the music so that they can play it their best way. Both my daughters love her class very much and they have made tremendous progress under Ms. Chen's instructions since she stared to teach them. They just had their first piano competition this year and both of them won trophies. I definitely attribute this to Ms. Chen's excellent teaching. I do recommend Ms. Chen to kids or adults whoever want to enjoy playing

Ms.Lipeng has been teaching piano to our 3.5 year old daughter for the last 6 months. During this time, I have seen my daughter not just learn piano, but also develop an appreciation for music. I completely attribute her progress to Ms.Lipeng's way for teaching. She is patient, caring and supportive, all attributes of an effective teacher, especially for a toddler. My daughter has made tremendous progress and had her first piano recital recently. Loved it :).

My daughter has been taking online violin lessons for the past few weeks and is loving it! Lipeng is helpful and inspires her to love what she is learning. She is very excited to show me the songs she is working on and she seems to be progressing very well from the excellent teaching she is getting. Great Instructor!

Lipeng is an amazing pianist and violinist artist herself, however she is an even more splendid teacher. She is so patient and encouraging with my now 7 year old. Her technique and attention to music detail is amazing. She encourages relaxed recitals for students to gain confidence in a larger setting without pressure. We were encouraged to take part in a piano competition and our daughter happened to win 1st place! On the feedback note from the judge, it wrote, "great teacher". The judge could tell from my daughters piano playing that she had a great teacher! Would highly recommend!!!!
