3 Ravens Tattoo & Piercing was established in 2018 by husband and wife Jim & Devon Mellor. Located at 159 W. Clayton Street next to the Globe and across from the Georgia Theatre. Our shop is as eclectic, imaginative, unique, and inclusive as the community we serve and a staple of Downtown Athens. Specializing in everything from traditional Japanese tattoos to black & grey geometric linework to the psychedelic and everything in between.
We also offer a multitude of body modifications including piercings and permanent cosmetics in a clean, sterile, and comfortable environment. Open six days a week - we are currently not doing walk-ins so appointments are required.

Services
All piercing appointments made in advance require a $20 deposit which will be used towards the total at checkout on the day of service. Deposits can be made in person, over the phone or in the Deposits & Gift Cards section in the menu of our website. Piercings on minors can only be done with parental consent.
Microblading is $300 for the first session and $150 for the required 6-8 week touch up. It's performed with a hand tool, and provides hair-like strokes that can last from 6-18 months, depending on skin type and lifestyle. This service is best for those with sparse brows that need a bit of filling in.
Crystal Tooth gems last anywhere from 6 months to 24 months. Real Gold Charms and Real diamonds last anywhere from 6 months to 12 months due to the extra weight of the specific charms. Tooth Gems are only 0.4 mm or 0.9mm thick and 1.8 mm to 3mm in diameter. Initially you will feel the tooth gem on your tooth, but after a fews days you should get used to the feeling.

As soon as I walked into 3 Ravens I felt welcome, comfortable and valued. I had two pieces done by Mr. Jim and I can honestly say it was the best experience I’ve ever had getting tattooed. The conversations were priceless and the tattoos are beautifully done, I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Will definitely be one of his regulars!

Jay was my piercer and she was great! Very clean and professional. My septum turns out to be slightly deviated so my horse shoe ring looks a little crooked. She offered to redo it for free if I wanted but honestly I'm not bothered buy it. Very pleasant experience and I would go there again for future piercings.

I had my first tattoo here with Madison! She was extremely professional, while being friendly and personable. Because it was my first tattoo, she explained the process to me in detail and took the time to answer all of my questions. She made sure that I was comfortable with the design and placement before we got started. She checked on me throughout the tattoo and gave me several breaks. Madison is still in her apprenticeship, but I cannot emphasize the amazing quality of work she produces. I'll definitely be back to get another piece from her.

We had three consecutive appointments with Jay on a super busy Saturday and SHE WAS AMAZING! My youngest daughter was getting her lobes re-pierced after a not so great first experience and Jay was so kind and comforting to her the entire time. Everyone at the shop had smiles on their faces and the atmosphere was so calm and relaxing. I highly recommend 3 Ravens and Jay for your piercings!! We’ll definitely be going back!!

This place is phenomenal! The atmosphere of the shop is amazing and all of the staff are really awesome! I felt extremely comfortable in the shop and I just love being in there! I have had multiple piercings and a tattoo done by Madison and I have scheduled more with them! She is an amazing piercer and tattoo artist who made me feel comfortable and safe, even though I have a fear of needles. I couldn't be happier with the service and experience at 3 Ravens. Trinity was knowledgeable, kind, gentle, cool, adorable and has the aspirations piercings you'll want and will help you plan your piercing journey. 10/10 will return and would go back tomorrow if my body healed faster.

Kevin did such an incredible job on my first tattoo! He was patient with me throughout the design process and took all of my ideas and created something so much cooler than I could've imagined. And his tattooing style is so gentle, I barely even felt anything. All around great experience!
I've also gotten a few ear piercings from the girls and they've all come our great!

I ended up at 3 Ravens after a disappointing (read: super rude & off-putting) experience at Walk The Line. I inquired about a tattoo, but actually ended up getting my septum pierced with Miki. I didn't intend on getting it done when I came in, but the girls we worked with were so cool, attentive, kind, & just awesome while they switched out my friend's cartilage piercing, I knew I wanted to give them my business as well & go ahead & get the septum piercing I'd been eyeing.
