Was started in 2011 by Verlin Stoll (licensed funeral director in MN, WI) and wife, Lisa Stoll (licensed funeral pre-arranger) to be a different kind of cremation provider. We provide many of the same services as other funeral homes and cremation societies, but with lower overhead (of not having a chapel) and prices at about half or less.

She got her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice: Sociology from North Central College in Naperville, IL and then went back to college to get her Mortuary Science degree at the UofMN.

Services
Following is a simple, one page form to be used to start the process for preplanning or prepaying. Please fill it out as completely as possible. If not prepaying for services, we would hold this information on file along with any supporting documents. There is no membership fee involved for this.
Prepayment generally isn't for when there is hospice care, as it involves setting of a policy as an irrevocable trust (funeral/cremation providers are not allowed to hold money directly).Setting up the policy in this way protects the money in the case of the medicaid spend down situation, and the money is still available if using another funeral/cremation provider.

My wife wanted to be cremated. In my search I found Crescent Tide right here in St. Paul, MN to be cheaper by half or more than any other provider. They looked after all the necessary steps, answered all my questions in a calm environment, and were immediately responsive when the time came. So good to know we have an alternative to the traditional funeral home that runs their own chapel. We just had a memorial service at our church - a better alternative.

Crescent Tide was recommended by my husband's hospice, and I can see why. After he passed, I called them at 1:30 a.m. to pick him up, and they were prompt, courteous and sympathetic. Also, as others have stated, their prices were very affordable, but with the same professionalism you would find at other more well known funeral and cremation service.

In January, when one of our sons passed in St. Paul, we were at a loss, both literally and figuratively. Covid was in full bloom and we had to figure out how to handle everything from here in Hawai'i, where we live. We contacted several funeral homes and decided on Crescent Tide. Unfortunately, with the time difference, it was not easy. Our call was returned by Heidi Palenik, one of the funeral directors. She was such a blessing and took care of everything. There was no pressure, whatsoever, through out the whole process. Our son is now home. My husband, Ray, and I really appreciate all the assistance

Crescent Tide handled the immediate cremation of my father after his passing due to complications from COVID 19. They were absolutely wonderful to work with during a very hectic time. They were always prompt in their responses and patient with questions and the navigation of this process. Due to the pandemic our services were approximately 6 months after my father's passing and they were just as compassionate and helpful as the first time we called. I worked with Grant and Lisa ..they were both amazing and kind.

Crescent Tide surpassed our expectations of a cremation service. Sadly, our mother passed away from pancreatic cancer in January, in the midst of the pandemic. Crescent Tide was quick to respond to our call for their services late in the evening and they were beyond kind and considerate. They contacted us within just a few days to pick up her cremains and were very accommodating to every special request we made. The prices were the most reasonable of any service I have heard about. We had a heartbreaking time with the stillbirth/passing of my 28-week-old grandson. We needed to choose a cremation provider right away for the paperwork the hospital needed and having never dealt with this issue I went on google to find providers. I read reviews for many places but Crescent Tide had an abundance of positive ones. During a difficult time like this ( or at any time) no one wants to deal with bad service so I went with them.

As with some of the other reviews I have to say they are extremely accurate. My father past away this past August and as he wished we opted for cremation. I had researched some available options and had my mother choose Crescent Tide based on overall reviews. My family couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. The staff was exceptional as was the entire process. I had called them the morning my father passed, and set up an appointment for early afternoon the same day. During a very difficult time, Crescent Tide served our family with genuine compassion. The staff were very clear regarding the process, and kept us informed. We made a special request regarding our loved one (locks of hair) and they obliged without question. The pricing for their services is very, very reasonable-about half the cost of the other services we contacted. At a time when families tend to be vulnerable to overpaying for services, Crescent Tide sets themselves apart by providing outstanding service at possibly the lowest cost available.
