The Maunz Company was established in 1924 by William C. Maunz, a plumbing and heating contractor, in Buffalo NY. Do You Remember all those Stories about Stoking the Coal Furnaces and Filling the Coal Bins? The Maunz Mission back then was converting the existing Coal heating systems to new modern Automatic Gas and Oil fired equipment.
We sold Convenience and Comfort when oil was only a nickel a gallon. When the Wars came along there was a shortage of materials and fuel, and we saw a need for improved efficiency. Service was quick, but providers were grumpy and disrespectful. When I asked the service person Larry to please take his shoes off when entering our living room space, he said he had blood clots on his feet so he can't take shoes off. When I offered bags to cover the shoes, he declined and walked around the house anyway. He said he had to adjust the thermometer, and when I pointed out that I could have done, he shrugged and left. Not pleasant at all! Will not use their services again.
