The music video started gaining popularity in the early 1980's with the launch of MTV. The original purpose of the station was to play music video's 24 hours a day, like a radio station plays music. The music videos would be guided by hosts (VJ's). They would have Top 20 count downs, and various other specialty programming such as "Club MTV" (a half hour show where guest danced to music videos).

What can we even say to do DJ David justice?? My husband and I had to quick pivot our wedding from home in NY to San Diego and DJ David was better than anything we could've ever hoped for! This dude was born to DJ and was a *literal* household name among the SoCal wedding scene! He even made a custom "New York, New York" Remix that our family went nuts for! David was flexible and responsive as we had too postpone our wedding twice due to Covid. When we finally were able to celebrate he did a great job of getting and keeping the dance party going! He listened to all of our requests - pre-wedding and last minute changes and requests during. I would definitely recommend working with David!

DJ David Cutler was everything we wanted in a DJ for our wedding and more. He was incredibly professional, very responsive, and listened to everything we wanted. He has an excellent program to input all your ideas and requests that was very, very helpful. I gave little suggestion in terms of dinner and cocktail hour music, but using my preferences for other songs DJ David Cutler created the perfect playlist that my guests still ask about. The guests never left the dance floor! I was nervous about the ceremony music and the microphones, but he made it super easy and there was zero stress at all

We hired David for our wedding and were so very happy with everything. He's so responsive and open to playing what you ask - even if it's awkward German taste haha. I am usually not a dancer but I enjoyed being on the dance floor all night and everyone was having a great time. The lights he put up were beautiful. You can't go wrong with DJ David

I just had a destination wedding at The Birch Aquarium this month, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with David Cutler! From our initial meeting to our wedding day months later, David was professional, friendly, kind, and amenable to all our requests. DJ Dave is a professional through and through. He kept the dance floor going all night! Our guests loved the music and went as far as sharing that they have never seen a wedding dance floor get going so quickly. It was great collaborating with DJ Dave. He had a true sense of us as a couple and our guests. He was also flexible when it came to playing Caribbean music. With some of my family being of Caribbean descent, DJ Dave asked about a few top Soca/Reggae songs and knew exactly when to play them. He catered to everyone's taste. Our wedding dance floor was filled and full of smiles (and rockin' bodies) thanks to the amazing DJ David Cutler! I chose David based on so many positive reviews I read online, his affordability and what's included in his packages, and after speaking with him myself, he had the positive energy and attitude I was looking for in a DJ for our event.
I told him we had a big mixed family for the wedding - Persian and Mexican mainly - and he was super excited. He was able to answer all of our questions ahead of the wedding, came out to check out the hotel space with us and work on lighting

David did an amazing job at our wedding! He met with us in person to discuss music and lighting options.
We had our reception at a wine cellar and it was a bit dark so we were hoping to light it up a bit and he did an incredible job illuminating the wine barrels.
He played all of the music we were hoping to hear and I've honestly never seen so many people dancing and having a great time.
