Too few waitresses which made the dining experience lacking. Those that worked did their best under the circumstances.
Food was good, but it was not hot which I like.
Because of low help, the tables were not cleared off when people left which is unpleasant to look at while dining.
Prices were good. Staff was courteous.

First let me say I loved our visit to Door County I've waited years to come here and decided to celebrate our anniversary. I had a hard time finding a hotel I called many places when I called the Lodge I asked many questions and was very mislead. She said the guest rooms were clean and updated and were on the water. I asked her the difference between both locations and she said the guest rooms were much nicer. Our room was very outdated and run down. It appeared to be cleaned but the walls were cracked and crumbling the carpet was stained and the bath tub had mold surrounding it. Our shower head

Definitely was not worth the price. The whole place is dated and could use some updating. The bed was smaller than advertised and rather uncomfortable, and half the jacuzzi jets barely worked. We could hear every stomp of the family staying above us.
The staff was trying, but seemed very overwhelmed and overworked. Some amenities were unavailable because there weren't enough people to staff them.

The event we had at The Lodge was perfect! The space was just what we needed for 100+ people, the staff was wonderful, the food delicious, and the accommodations for our guests worked great and even included breakfast. Couldn't have asked for a better experience in planning and executing our daughter's Quinceanera!

We stayed in a Captains room. It was advertised as having a queen sized bed but it was tiny. That bed was full size. Our porch was barely a slab of concrete and the cheap plastic chairs were filthy and covered in cobwebs. The tiki bar was closed by 7pm Saturday evening so we had no where to enjoy a drink outside.
The place was clean but understaffed. It was not at all worth what we paid.

I've never been more conflicted about a review. On the one hand, this is a cozy, old fashioned kind of place with a great history and amazing "bones." You feel like this is a place that decades of families have come to for special weekends. The location is prime and the value for the area is quite good. Yet, as many reviewers pointed out, the place suffers from inconsistent staffing (as in, the kitchen may or may not be open that day depending on if anyone came in) as well as some unmet deep cleaning needs. We had several bizarre hiccups over the course of our stay that, at times, really tested

The only reason I rated this place so high was the location and view were very nice. The room was awful! We had a first floor room with sliding door to a “patio” (slab of cement with 2 filthy plastic chairs on it it). The door didn’t lock, but they had a curtain rod there to stop it from being opened. My husbands towel was so stained; looked like makeup that they didn’t get out. In the morning I found a hair in my bed which was way to long and dark to be mine. Breakfast was a joke. The fresh fruit was far from fresh. The pineapple chucks were brown and the grapes had mold on them. The poor
