She is pleased to be serving patients in North Carolina and the surrounding states. Dr. Dane provides treatment solutions for a variety of complaints utilizing functional neurology. Functional neurology is a new concept for many people, but it has been gaining a tremendous amount of press lately due to functional neurologist pioneer, Dr. Ted Carrick, founder of the Carrick Institute of Graduate Studies.
Very basically, functional neurology can be thought of as an exercise regimen for the brain. Just like working a muscle makes it stronger, we work your brain to make it stronger. At Carolina Brain Center, we have found that intensive treatment periods are best to increase function quickly and effectively.
Functional Neurology is a new concept for many people. In essence, functional neurology, also called chiropractic neurology, is the clinical evaluation and treatment method for the central and peripheral nervous system. Very basically, functional neurology can be thought of as exercise for the brain.
Dr. Dane moved to the Triangle in 2006 to pursue a Master of Divinity and opened up a chiropractic office in Wake Forest, NC. During that same time she began attending classes through the Carrick Institute to study childhood developmental disorders, which began her journey into the world of chiropractic neurology.

I was referred to Dr Dane by my Integrative Medicine doctor, after my regular doctor told me that my recent perception issues were psychosomatic. They began after I fell off of a wall onto pavement hitting my head and shattering my left elbow. I was losing my balance on stairs, clipping doors while walking through, and hitting curbs with my car. Dr. Dane’s testing did indeed show that I had perception issues. Dr. Dane was referred to us for my daughter's complicated concussion issues. She's been incredibly helpful and thorough in trying to get answers and figure out ways to control my daughter's migraines, dizziness, and insomnia. I am grateful for the care of Dr. Danes. She displays compassion and a deep passion for her work with the care of her patients. Anyone suffering from maybe physical pain, emotional, developmental or social disorders knows it can be exhausting. Dr. Dane worked with my husband who suffers from an aggressive early onset dementia. Dr. Dane is incredible!! Our teenage son suffered from what we thought was ADD for many years. He went through an intensive week’s worth of sessions with Dr. Dane and we now have the son we always knew was inside his foggy head. Dr Dane at Carolina Brain Center has made such a positive impact on our lives. The therapy that our daughter received took her from needing a full time classroom helper (due to behavioral issues with SPD) in preschool and Kindergarten to needing no helper in first grade, not to mention behaving above expectation at both home as well school. This place is fantastic....my husband went there for dizziness from a very old head injury..which was ..35 years old...was very unstable walking also...within 2 days his dizziness was gone after 35 years. Absolutely amazing! His walking is also improving with the exercises they have given him. If only this was available at the time of his accident. Dr. Dana Brindisi has been fantastic and I can't recommend her enough.

When I walked into Carolina Brain Center I was barely able to look down at the floor or turn my head all the way to either side without feeling like I was going to pass out. When I changed positions ie stood up from a reclined position or layed down flat everything would start spinning and begin to go black.

I highly recommend Dr. Darcy Dane of the Carolina Brain Center. My mother had fallen last March and had a mild concussion. She experienced numerous problems such as changes in her eating and sleeping patterns, increased anxiety and brain fog. She was not herself, and she was not improving. We took her to Dr. Dane in June and she evaluated mom and… started a program of therapy for her. Mom started improving within a week! It has been a little over a month and Mom is herself again! Dr. Dane has been treating my son for Tourette's Syndrome and the accompanying disorders for 2 years.
