Piano Lessons With Valery Goldes
Val is outstanding teacher who deserves all the praise he can get. He has been teaching my 9 year old for about 8 months and my 5 year old for about 4 months. My 9 year old improved a lot (it was a lot of work to undo the bad habits created or not caught by previous teachers) and is currently preparing for her level 4 certificate, but we were most amazed how far he has come with our 5 year old exceeding our expectations and surprising us every step of the way.

Thank you Val for your patience and flexibility, but most importantly the relationship you have with our kids that gets them motivated and excited before every lesson! My wife started taking lessons with Val and it was so inspiring, vibrant and accessible that my daughter and I started lessons after the first day.
Services
I teach piano at locations such as Hollywood, West LA and Santa Monica. My main teaching location is my home studio which is located in Hollywood across the Hollywood & Highland Center, by the walk of fame. There is free parking right under my studio, I'll show you where it is when you come for your first lesson.
If you want the best piano teacher I would recommend Valery Goldes to everyone that wants to learn playing the piano, beginner or advance. After my 12 year old took Piano lessons with different teachers and was discouraged by their ways of teaching she wanted to quit playing the piano. After my wife and I decided to give it another chance and find her another teacher in NY.
All lessons are customized to provide you with an exceptional service and experience to better serve your needs and desires. From beginner level to advanced, I'm here to take you on a journey to discover your musical abilities and help you develop essential skills to achieve your goals as a professional musician or just for fun!
I now offer online lessons via Skype, Zoom and FaceTime. You might think that a virtual lesson is an impossibility and takes away from the real experience of learning an instrument.

While the experience is different than face to face lessons, online lessons have proven to be a very effective method for people who maintain social distancing and who are extremely busy and find it more relaxing to learn an instrument in the comfort of their homes not to mention eliminating pressure or nervousness that can occur when trying out a new experience.
It's very important especially for kids to develop their performing skills. It's an essential part of the music education because the ability to perform for the audience is not only an unforgettable experience but also a very exciting opportunity for young performers to showcase their talent.

All of the students will have a chance to perform on a Steinway Model D 9' Concert Grand at the prestigious recital hall of Steinway Piano Gallery of Beverly Hills. It's important for me to bring out all the potentials in all of my students to the best of their abilities. Steinway has always been my number one piano and is one of the highest quality pianos ever made.

As a musician and music educator myself, I was very particular when it came to finding a piano teacher for my 9-year-old daughter. Valery has exceeded my expectations. Not only is Valery a highly skilled musician himself, but he is an excellent teacher. He is the perfect combination of being kind and patient as well as being strict and setting high expectations. Valery is also keen to see my daughter's individual strengths and help inspire her to develop them. He is giving my daughter the well-rounded piano and musicianship skills I was hoping for that will serve her no matter where her path takes

Being a pianist, and being a teacher — are two entirely separate skills. Valery excels at both of them. He understands how to break a concept into digestible parts, and I can imagine him being patient with students of any level, or age.
Valery's teaching style is not overwrought with drills and exercises. It reflects a nice balance between discipline, and enjoyment of playing. He is flexible depending on your goals, and places a refreshing emphasis on creativity.
I recommend Valery for all players; beginner, intermediate, or advanced.

My son has been delighted with his lessons with Valery. He not only enjoys the lessons, but leaves them inspired and determined to improve his skills. He is gaining increased competency in both piano and composition, and Valery really gets my son and focuses the lessons in a way that has him moving steadily and quickly forward.

Val is encouraging and fun. He has high expectations but isn’t high pressure or demanding. And he cares about what music our kids (10/13) want to play which makes the lessons feel personalized as opposed to playing whatever songs are in a music book.

I’ve been seeing Val for a couple months now. I’m an adult student new to the piano, but not new to music. After years of music teachers throughout my life, I knew the kind of teacher I was looking for and met with 4 other instructors before finding him. Val is incredibly patient, kind, yet pushes you to believe in yourself and there is no way I would be where I am without his support and expertise. I highly recommend Val to anyone looking for a dedicated and quality teacher!

I'm a primarily self-taught pianist, and I was seeking a teacher to help round out some of my fundamentals and take my skill to the next level. Val has been an amazing mentor and has been monumental in leveling up my skills! I highly recommend Val for anyone that wants to seriously improve with piano!

Val is an amazing instructor. I've been playing piano on and off my entire life and decided to get back into it. I'm glad to have found Val. Not only does he understand theory and practice, he simplifies it in ways that I wish I could have had as a kid.
If you're looking to take lessons, Val is the man. Whether you're looking for jazz or classical, he has you covered.

I have been taking lessons from Val from quite sometime now and I can honestly say my piano skills have improved quite significantly compared to before. Hes a great teacher and will go above and beyond to help you improve & reach the goal that you set for yourself. Thanks to him, my techniques have improved so much. He also offered music theory & production lessons as well. I would highly recommended him for anyone who wants to improve their skills regardless of your current level of skills.

Val is a Juilliard-trained pianist and a wonderful teacher. After 6 years of piano lessons with 3 different teachers, we finally found the piano teacher that we should have had all along. In the first lesson, he assessed my kids, both of whom are completely different. He understands where each kid need to be challenged and how to address each of their weaknesses. He seems to know how to encourage them and motivate them. For the first time, my kids are inspired to play music and they actually seem to enjoy it. The lessons are virtual, and it is still high quality. Highly recommend Val!!!

Valery is a great piano teacher. He has a deep understanding and love of music and the piano, which definitely translates to his teaching. I've seen great improvement in my playing even after a few months of lessons. Valery is able to see issues with my playing and help correcting them. I appreciate that he focuses on both the technical and musical aspects of playing. Highly recommended!
