Ponderosa is a non-profit Christian camp in northeast Alabama for boys and girls. Established in 1947, and operating from our current location since 1976, we offer one-week overnight summer camp sessions for ages 7-17. Our purpose is to help boys and girls grow and experience Christ through an unforgettable camp adventure.

Services
God has called Ponderosa Bible Camp to be a ministry that clearly and boldly shares the Gospel of Christ to all who attend. Ponderosa Bible Camp offers affordable, week-long overnight camps during the summer, as well as weekend retreats in the spring and fall. Sessions are available for different age groups, starting with elementary and going through high school.
Ponderosa Student Ministries teaches the Bible as the true and accurate Word of God and the authority for faith and conduct. Ponderosa Student Ministries is conducted along non-denominational lines, and as such there are certain essential truths in which we believe.
As Christians, we believe in the necessity of the New Birth as the work of God, the Holy Spirit, to be obtained only by receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, and that men are saved by grace through faith, not works.B. We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ as fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin; as God, co-equal and co-existent with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit Matt.

Ponderosa Student Ministries' purpose is to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to students by giving them opportunities to experience God's power, presence and peace; through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We seek to accomplish this through the 3 C's - Camping, Classes, and Correspondence lessons, which promote the spiritual, moral, and educational condition of students.
Released Time Bible Classes are open to the 11 county schools in DeKalb County, AL in grades 2-6. Students (with permission of a parent or guardian) can be released from school during one PE class each week and go to an off-campus location (usually a church next door) and attend a Bible class. Ponderosa Student Ministries is pleased to offer these free classes.
Jeff grew up attending Ponderosa as a child and was one of our first campers when we opened at this location in 1976. Jeff was part of our summer staff while he was in high school and college. Jeff and Ann have been serving full-time since 1998. Jeff serves as Executive Director. Ann serves as our camp photographer and website/social media manager.
