San Diego Solar
Dirk and his company exceeded all of my expectations. The price was phenomenal, the installation was flawless, and the system operates better that expected. We used to pay between $200-$300 per month on electricity. Our bill is now anywhere from $0-$10. Do you have an older rock or "torch down" roof on your house and want a more permanent solution?

San Diego Solar Intro- Meet Our Founders Dirk and Brad Hosmer and the Origins of San Diego Solar. At San Diego Solar, we shoot a lot of residential solar project videos, so we thought showing a post-project video would be good. Now that you have solar energy installed for your home or business, many are still unsure exactly how to read their SDGE smart meters.

Do you want a painter to install your solar system? An air conditioning company to do your roofing? Solar PV systems are tough to water proof for a 50 year design life. We are one of the only companies in San Diego licensed and Insured to do Roofing, Commercial Electrical and Solar. Workmanship and Trade specific skills all in-house.
We are one of the few solar companies in San Diego licensed in Solar, Electrical & Roofing. Clay also maintains its vibrant color for many years. Installing a solar system on a Clay tile roof can be done with an "inset" look for low profile and better aesthetics. Concrete is quickly becoming the most popular material used in the production of roofing tile around the world.
To appreciate why you might choose to install a solar-plus-storage system for your home, you first need to understand how a standard home solar PV system functions. The typical solar energy system includes solar panels, an inverter, equipment to mount the panels on your roof, and a performance monitoring system that tracks electricity production.
By generating your own electric power you will reduce your reliance on your local power utility. This will provide insulation from inflation and future utility rate hikes. You can save thousands of dollars annually for years to come.

In California, a small 3.1 kilowatt (kW) system can add an average of $18,324 to the value of a medium-sized home, whereas installing 5kW of solar panels adds an average of $29,555 to the retail value of a medium-sized home.As a future seller, can demand a higher asking price for your home, reduce exposure time on the market listings (sell your home (on average) 20x faster).
Together, we can create an energy market where renewable energy offers the opportunity to save money AND leave a cleaner planet for future generations. The renewable energy revolution has begun and as conscientious citizens we should allow no barriers to continued adoption of renewable energy with the goal of replacing carbon emitting fossil fuels entirely.

San Diego Solar installed solar panels on my residence. The service was fantastic. The owner Dirk first determined how many panels I needed by reviewing my past electric bills. He then provided a simple straightforward quote (that ended up being the lowest I received). He helped with the rebates and answered all of my questions even after the install. His crew was professional, efficient, clean, and friendly. He did a great job explaining the system to me. Overall, I had a wonderful experience with San Diego Solar, plus Dirk is a genuine, good guy.

San Diego Solar goes above and beyond to make sure a quality solar solution is installed. Starting with the owner Dirk Hosmer who personally oversees and works on my entire project. I've dealt with many contractors over the years and I can honestly say that Dirk stands alone in responsiveness, reliability, communication and most important to me, providing a bid and sticking to it with no "add-ons". His upfront estimate was exactly what the total cost ended up being, which in the contracting arena seems to be unheard of. Prior to choosing San Diego Solar I did my due diligence in researching all
