We started our flexible office space to bring back the sense of community and drive to succeed present in Durham’s Black Wall Street nearly a century ago. We support diversity and inclusion and want all entrepreneurs to feel welcome at our coworking space. My current employer has an office space here-it's a wonderful place to work from and the people are amazing. Many extra points that this is an historic downtown Durham building with roots in the Black Wall Street movement. There is also good snacks and a coffee machine (which features coffee from local coffee companies).

I must say I was thrilled from the minute I walked into this space. The renovations were amazing in an upscale atmosphere. I highly recommend this space for entrepreneurs who are serious about utilizing their skills and creative talents to expand and grow. Opportunities are endless. A work from home individual could take advantage of a space which provides comfort, space and privacy.

My creative juices erupt every time I work at Provident1989. The art affirms my love for black people. There are reminders of a proud history of people working to fulfill their dreams. The space is packed with people motivated by the legacy of Black Wall Street and the impact of collaboration. Provident1898 is part church evoking the message of we shall overcome, part business incubator with business plans accelerating through the magic of entrepreneurial spirit and a social event center where the coolest people in town gather to celebrate life in Durham.

Very nice space! This place is a hidden gem. It's located in downtown Durham on the CC level of the NC Mutual building. Brand new, nice space for co-op, work from home and need a change of scenery, meetings with other local businesses, networking and more! This is your office away from your home office. There are plenty of individual offices and meeting spaces that you can rent out as well if you need some additional privacy.
There is a snack bar and drink station. They are in the process of expanding into an even bigger space which should be completed soon. Overall, a great choice if you are looking for office, meeting, networking or a business event space.
