Individual Therapy Individual therapy, counseling, or psychotherapy involves meeting with the therapist one-on-one. Some reasons you may seek individual therapy may include feelings of being trapped, distressed, or alone, constant worry, crisis/transition, depression, anxiety, recent divorce, low self-worth, body-image issues, past or present trauma, and lack of motivation or ability to change. If family members and friends cannot help you find the answers or these feelings are affecting your job, relationships, sleep, or eating habits, it may be time to seek help from a professional. The goal of psychotherapy is to enhance self-awareness, empower the client, work towards desired change, and work through challenging life issues. There's hope, we believe in you, and you deserve to be happy.
Couples Therapy & Marriage Counseling Marriage Counseling, also known as Couples Counseling, Couples Therapy, and Relationship Therapy, is a branch of psychotherapy dedicated to addressing relationship challenges and fostering growth. Its primary objective is to identify together the areas in need of improvement. These challenges may include poor communication, work-life imbalance, emotional disconnection, infidelity/trust issues, financial strain, domestic conflicts, parenting difficulties, mental health issues, depression, and ineffective stress management. Collaborative efforts with the therapist lead to the development and implementation of a personalized treatment plan aimed at revitalizing your relationships. The ultimate aim is to mitigate distress and cultivate a healthier level of mutual cooperation and affection.
Child, Teen and Family Therapy Good Therapy San Diego employs a diverse set of techniques and methodologies to assist children, teenagers, and adolescents navigating through emotional or behavioral hurdles. Child and teen therapy serves various purposes, offering emotional support, conflict resolution skills, emotional understanding, and innovative problem-solving approaches. Moreover, parents greatly benefit from this assistance, gaining invaluable guidance for navigating the challenging and immensely important journey of parenting, for which there is unfortunately no manual.

Catie Peters has been a valuable and inspirational therapist for me as I've been navigating a marital breakup after 28 years. She is intelligent, intuitive, caring and accepting, and takes the time to really HEAR me. She goes out of her way to schedule appointments when I need them, and regularly updates me if there is a cancellation. She suggests meaningful strategies to help me move forward. She is a gem!

Some people are just born to be therapists. Their spirit and demeanor makes people feel safe and heard, and somehow they just always know the right thing to say. This is Eli in a nutshell. I've never met such a naturally gifted counselor. And when you combine that with years of spiritual soul-searching and therapeutic training, you've got someone truly special. This is why Eli is at the top of my list for recommendation for a therapist. And as a therapist myself, I don't take this lightly. I'd trust him with my friends and family.

Huge shout out for Laura! We came here about a year ago looking for help for my teenage daughter after having great experiences with marriage therapy as well here. Laura jumped in and helped my daughter with our crisis after we found her trying to harm her self, and struggling with depression. We Called Good Therapy and they had a great recommendation for Laura because they said she was great with kids.

They were not wrong and my daughter has been going in person as well as zoom for about a year. She is doing great today, and I can't think Laura enough for the work she did with, my beautiful girl. Thank you for your professionalism, compassion, and friendship. There is no greater gift.

Such a fabulous staff! The gals at the front desk are welcoming and responsive and the waiting room feels comfortable and calming. There is water, books to read and even coloring books. I see Eli and I would truly recommend him 100%. He creates a safe space that is client led, and empowers you to realize your power and potential. I have seen more growth and breakthrough in 6 months with him than 2 years with another therapist. As someone who has experience in the psych field, he is truly so well suited for this job and is an incredible resource.

Dunya is an amazing relationship counselor. She openly listens in a very non judgmental atmosphere but also helps stimulate you and your partner's discussion with each other. This is a big thing for me, that a counselor doesn't just sit there and wait for you to say something, but actually contributes to the session often. She does a great job of that.

Her overall focus is the couple communicating back and forth to each other, (instead talking to her about the other person) and learning to communicate in a listening and empathetic manner.

Katie is kind, empathic and an exceptionally good listener. I started seeing Katie when I was stuck in a rut and she helped me to come out the other side better than ever. I wish that I had started therapy with Katie earlier because she really changed my life for the better. Katie has a very comforting and reassuring presence and I look forward to seeing her each session.

Katie is a true expert in eating disorders, and her approach has gently guided me into healing from the inside out. Katie has helped me navigate the more subtle and deeply rooted sources that manifest in maladaptative eating patterns. Katie has helped me shift my mindset from food to focusing other areas of my life that require attention and care, which in turn has brought massive positive change to my life.

When I first found Katie it was like pulling teeth to get me to come as I think many people are reluctant to give therapy a go. I had worked with a psychologist previously who passed away followed by another psychologist who was extremely critical. However, working with Katie has been a divine intervention of sorts. If I could describe Katie in a few short words it would be loving, non-judgemental and caring.

I've never met anyone in my life aside from my husband that truly has the best intentions and is completely full of light and love. I've been going to Katie for a little over 6 months and she has completely changed my life, in the fact that's helped me open the tools that were inside of me. When I first met Katie I was working a corporate job miserable, my marriage was a wreck and I wanted to get a divorce as my husband and I had been living in different states for almost 2 years and had a rocky relationship with my mother.

Pretty much, I hit rock bottom, if you will. Through working with Katie I've been able to find a greater purpose in life, reconnect with my husband and ultimately live the life I've always envisioned. I couldn't imagine where I'd be if I never walked into Katie's office 7 months ago as she is truly the saving grace for my husband and I's marriage.

I'll forever be grateful for the work Katie and I have done and would highly recommend seeing her if you just feel like giving up because, the truth is there is light at the end of the tunnel sometime's you just need help getting there.

I'm really glad and grateful that my sister found Katie Brooks by Google search! I was at the lowest point in my life, and going to Katie for counseling was the best thing I have ever done for my health. After struggling for a year with depression, I got out of it in a couple of weeks with weekly sessions. I have regained previous passions that I forgot about the past year, and I feel like my life is back on track.

I am HAPPY again! Katie truly listens to what you have to say and will only give reasonable, logical, and helpful advice to any of your concerns. I could tell her anything without feeling judged, and only positive things came out of trusting her as my counselor. Her positive demeanor only gave me hope and actually rubbed off on me! I would refer her to anyone that needs someone to talk to about something they are struggling with, etc. She's amazing!
