Therapy for Eating Disorders Dr. Sala specializes in treating eating disorders and collaborates with individuals across various age groups, encompassing children, adolescents, and adults. Employing gold-standard methodologies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family-Based Treatment, she provides comprehensive care for individuals seeking support for their eating disorder challenges.
We employ an integrative approach, drawing primarily from the Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy. The Gottman Method emphasizes enhancing the couple's bond through friendship, conflict resolution, and mutual understanding. Meanwhile, Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy recognizes that relationship challenges stem not only from partners' actions but also from their emotional responses to each other. Studies indicate that nearly two-thirds of couples experience improvement through these therapeutic methods. This process allows for tangible adjustments to meet your partner's needs and fosters deeper emotional connection and acceptance between partners.
Therapy for Anxiety At Sala Psychology, our tailored treatments for anxiety disorders integrate two highly effective approaches: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Therapy. Renowned for their efficacy, these therapies are renowned for alleviating anxiety symptoms.
Our collaborative process involves guiding you to comprehend the intricate interplay between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that underpin anxiety. Together, we'll identify and reframe unconstructive thoughts while empowering you to detach from anxious thinking patterns. Additionally, we'll equip you with strategies to modify behaviors that fuel anxiety and cultivate behaviors aligned with your personal values and aspirations.
Behavioral Weight Loss We specialize in assisting individuals grappling with the adverse effects of excess weight. Our expertise lies in employing the latest evidence-backed techniques to foster healthier lifestyles and facilitate weight reduction. Our methodology is rooted in behavioral science, integrating mindfulness and acceptance principles. We establish precise dietary and fitness objectives and diligently track progress in these areas. Moreover, we provide comprehensive psychological support to aid in goal attainment and long-term maintenance.
Our method for addressing depression hinges on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), emphasizing goal-oriented techniques. Collaborating closely with patients, we strive to enhance activation and promote constructive behaviors, resulting in heightened enjoyment and enhanced problem-solving skills. CBT boasts the most robust scientific backing for its effectiveness in depression treatment. Additionally, we integrate mindfulness-based approaches, proven to mitigate relapse.
Insomnia Treatment At Sala Psychology, we comprehend the significant toll insomnia can take on your overall health. Our approach to treating insomnia involves utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), a highly successful method (with 50-75% of individuals achieving significant enhancements in sleep quality). Together, we'll establish a structured sleep routine, enhance your sleep habits, pinpoint and address behaviors that exacerbate insomnia, develop relaxation techniques, minimize arousal and anxiety at bedtime, and alleviate concerns about sleep. Additionally, we integrate mindfulness and acceptance techniques to address unproductive thoughts and beliefs surrounding sleep.
Therapy for Chronic Pain We employ cognitive-behavioral techniques alongside mindfulness and acceptance practices to aid in the management of chronic pain. Our collaborative efforts will focus on modifying lifestyle elements, such as reducing depression and anxiety, reshaping negative perceptions of pain, enhancing mood, and fostering greater participation in hobbies and social interactions. Together, we will guide you in recalibrating your outlook on navigating chronic pain.

Dr. Sala is really great. She's easy to talk to and she has a specialty in mindful eating counseling: we worked on things like tackling cravings, boredom/emotional eating, binge eating, etc. She provides suggestions for ways to improve habits and be more mindful, without restriction. I highly recommend her services!

Dr. Sala has been wonderful from the start. I was nervous to start therapy and since our first conversation, she has made me feel welcomed, comfortable and I felt no judgement from her whatsoever. Therapy can sometimes makes you feel uneasy, but she was very respectful of my feelings and brought great insight to everything I have been facing. I actually started to look forward to our sessions because I could see the progress I was making with her. Without Dr. Sala's help, guidance, and tools she taught me, I would not be in such a good state of mind.
