Individual therapy, counseling, or psychotherapy involves meeting with the therapist one-on-one. Some reasons you may seek an individual therapist may include feelings of being trapped, distressed, or alone, constant worry, crisis/ transition, depression, anxiety, recent divorce, low self-worth, body-image issues, past or present trauma, and lack of motivation or ability to change. If family members and friends cannot help you find the answers or these feelings are affecting your job, relationships, sleep, or eating habits it may be time to seek help from a professional. The goal of psychotherapy is to enhance self-awareness, empower the client, work towards desired change, and work through challenging life issues. There’s hope, we believe in you, and you deserve to be happy.
Couples Therapy or Marriage Counseling is a form of psychotherapy which focuses on relationship distress and growth. It is a powerful tool for cultivating deeper love, respect, and partnership. The purpose is to jointly identify the areas that are in need of evolution and come to an increased understanding of one another. Some common distressing situations that couples face can include, but are not exclusive to: poor communication, work-life imbalance, intimacy and emotional disconnection, infidelity/ trust issues, financial distress, domestic abuse, parenting, mental illness, depression, and unhealthy coping with stress.
Shared work with a skilled couples therapist will yield to the development and implementation of a treatment plan that will allow your relationship to bloom again. The goal is to work towards alleviating distress and rebuilding a healthier level of collaboration and love.

Good Therapy San Diego specializes in child, teen and family therapy. We use a wide variety of techniques and methods in order to help children, adolescents and teens who are experiencing difficulties with their emotions or behaviors. For children and adolescents, playing, drawing, building, and pretending, as well as talking, are important ways of sharing feelings and resolving problems in therapy. Child/ Teen therapy helps children in a variety of ways. They receive emotional support, resolve conflicts with people, understand feelings and problems, and try out new solutions to old problems. On the flip side, child and teen therapy helps parents! Parents will receive invaluable guidance in support of this very difficult and ridiculously important job they did not get a manual for.

Laura Gonzales is a wonderful therapist at Good Therapy San Diego, and I can't recommend her enough! She is compassionate, warm, welcoming, and a great listener. She creates a safe space for me to come as I am, and to learn and grow, offering insight and a therapeutic perspective that I have needed. I'm so thankful for her expertise and gentle guidance.

Catie Peters has been a valuable and inspirational therapist for me as I've been navigating a marital breakup after 28 years. She is intelligent, intuitive, caring and accepting, and takes the time to really HEAR me. She goes out of her way to schedule appointments when I need them, and regularly updates me if there is a cancellation. She suggests meaningful strategies to help me move forward. She is a gem!

I don't even know where to begin. Sean? SEAN? Best. Therapist. Ever. Hear me out. I went to Sean with practically ZERO confidence. I was anxious, lonely, self-loathing, and uncomfortable in my own skin and my own thoughts. My past was eating at me, and I was eating my past. I struggled with binge eating disorder for about 20 years, and Sean helped me turn it around almost immediately.
I've been desperate for the right kind of help for a long time, but every therapist I went to was monotonous, scripted, and spent the majority of the session typing notes. I was passed from one therapist to another over and over again, and I never found someone I could connect with. Then Sean came in, and he was fun, kind, compassionate, and this borderline telepathic brain wizard who had the ability to crawl into my psyche, pick out my fears, lay them before me, and analyze them while never leaving my side.
He didn't follow a prompt, he didn't type away at his computer while I disclosed sensitive information, and he didn't give me the same dumb, cookie cutter advice all the other therapists tossed my way. He was engaged the whole time, every single session. He challenged me and brought me out of my shell. Because of my wonderful therapy sessions with him, everything in my life is better.
I'm physically active (went from a couch potato to lifting couches lol), my marriage is better, my mind is calmer, and I'm a much more confident mother, friend, and artist. Oh, and I've been binge-free since February! If you're a potential client reading this, DUDE. TALK TO SEAN. If you're reading this Sean, thank you. Thank you for everything and more.

I have been working with Eli for the last 5 months. This was also my first attempt at therapy. I knew not what to expect both in process and results. I am very happy I decided to go with Eli at Good Therapy. Eli is a fantastic therapist. He knows when to listen, when to offer suggestions, and asks questions that help guide my mental health in positive ways. Eli is about half my age chronologically, but twice my age spiritually and mentally.
This makes a perfect match; I leave every session feeling uplifted, grounded, and more aware of the what's, why's and how's of my thought processes. These are the very things that brought me to therapy in the first place! Life can suck, but it can suck less if you get the help you need. Eli and Good Therapy are a great solution to dealing with the day-to-day static of life. 5 stars.

Hannah S. is hands down the best therapist I have ever been to, and there have been many. It is a relief to have finally found a mental health professional that is the right fit for me. Hannah is compassionate, a great listener, warm, and always provides an insightful perspective with scientific studies to back up findings. Since I have been in Hannah's care, I have grown tremendously and have truly felt supported throughout my healing journey. It is refreshing to actually look forward to my sessions and feel that progress has been made. I cannot recommend Hannah S. enough. Aside from being a fantastic therapist, she is an overall genuinely wonderful person. Thank you for everything!

My 7 year old son has been treating with Sean in Encinitas for almost a year for anxiety. Sean was able to immediately relate to my son, assess the situation, and make a strong connection with him. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing that Sean is someone my son can talk to about his feelings especially since the pandemic began and everyone's lives got turned upside down. Sean is engaging, energetic, dynamic, positive, and frankly just a wonderful person.
He is also a great communicator and makes sure everyone is always on the same page with treatment. I feel really fortunate to have found Sean for my son and am very grateful to GTSD.

I am SO glad I picked Good Therapy. The statement on their website resonated with me deeply and I had a feeling that they genuinely cared about helping people. Milli is absolutely exceptional. In the last 6 months she has helped me improve my self-awareness, anxiety, confidence, relationships and ability to get things done. I have applied to graduate school, broken old patterns and have gained control over my emotions. I am certain that I would not have been able to do any of this without Milli's guidance. I am so grateful for all of the progress I've made with Milli's help and look forward to my continued evolution.

Good Therapy set me up with my therapist, Heather, and she is the best. When I contacted Good Therapy, they had a quick response and I felt like they really wanted to help me out- I was set up with an appointment the next day! I remember being extremely grateful for the next day availability (I was/am going through many mid-20's hardships and was feeling pretty desperate).
I am so happy I was placed with Heather. She listens to all my crazy thoughts and is my unbiased cheerleader. I trust she has my best interest in mind, and even when I am stubborn and don't like what she has to say, I've gotta admit that she is usually right. Are you going through an identity crisis? Heather's got you.

Dunya is an amazing relationship counselor. She openly listens in a very non judgmental atmosphere but also helps stimulate you and your partner's discussion with each other. This is a big thing for me, that a counselor doesn't just sit there and wait for you to say something, but actually contributes to the session often. She does a great job of that.
Her overall focus is the couple communicating back and forth to each other, (instead talking to her about the other person) and learning to communicate in a listening and empathetic manner.

Katie is kind, empathic and an exceptionally good listener. I started seeing Katie when I was stuck in a rut and she helped me to come out the other side better than ever. I wish that I had started therapy with Katie earlier because she really changed my life for the better. Katie has a very comforting and reassuring presence and I look forward to seeing her each session.
