I'm Alyssa Trop, a portrait photographer based in the San Francisco East Bay Area in California. I specialize in newborn, maternity, family, and portrait photography. I take pride in capturing the most authentic and beautiful moments in natural light. I enjoy shooting both posed and natural, candid images. I was born and raised in the East Bay. From a very young age I wanted to be a teacher and had a love for the arts. I attended Sonoma State University and graduated with a degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Fine Arts. I also received my multiple subjects teaching credential. I have always loved children and have had a creative side.
I recommend maternity sessions take place between 30-36 weeks. We want you to have a nice, round belly. I have several maternity dresses you can choose from, and also can give you suggestions for maternity outfits if you need some help with styling and shopping! Maternity sessions usually take about one hour, approximately an hour before sunset.
I would love to capture your brand new bundle of joy! I will travel to your home with all of the wraps, baskets, headbands, bonnets, and other props we will need. I shoot in natural light, without harsh studio lighting. Newborn sessions ideally take place in the first 2 weeks of life. After the first couple weeks, your baby will become much more alert during the shoot, so capturing those sleepy posed photos will be more challenging.
Family sessions are fun! We will take some posed shots, but will also laugh, move around, have a good time and take some candid ones also. We will explore an outdoor location and might sit on the grass, dirt, or a blanket. I love documenting every day interactions as well as milestones. I would love to assist you with wardrobe choices so your images are timeless.
These sessions are designed to capture your precious moments, whether that be pregnancy, family & sibling connections, engagements or senior portraits. All sessions are outdoors in natural light, and typically shot at the "golden hour." These sessions are designed to capture your brand new baby in the comfort of your home.
