Services
Lisa Hoppes has been helping families navigate family law matters for 28 years. She is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Lisa received her Juris Doctor Degree from Louisiana State University School of Law in 1993 and is licensed to practice law in both Texas and Louisiana.
Much of family law centers on divorce, but there are many other types of cases that go before the family court. All legal issues that involve your family can significantly impact your relationships, finances, and future, so you want to achieve the best possible outcome no matter what your case involves.
Spousal support is an issue that can arise in Texas divorce cases, and it can be a contentious one. If you are facing divorce, you might have concerns about having to provide continual support to your ex-spouse following the conclusion of your divorce case. However, Texas family courts can only order ongoing spousal support in limited circumstances, and the court weighs several factors in reaching this decision.
Child custody and visitation are referred to as conservatorship and possession and access in Texas. All conservatorship determinations are based on what the court believes is in the best interests of the child, and there are many possible outcomes for your custody case, depending on your circumstances.
All parents have a legal duty to provide financial support for their child, and this does not change when parents get divorced or separate. Texas law requires the family court to issue orders for child support pursuant to the guidelines set forth in the Texas Family Code.

Child support consists of regular payments made from one parent to the other until the child reaches 18 years of age or graduates high school whichever is later, until the child is emancipated, or until the child dies. The amount of child support is based on how much income the parent paying the support has on a monthly basis minus very specific deductions.

I am so happy that I chose Anita Cutrer as my family attorney. She took a personal interest in my case and helped me through my two-year struggle. I always felt like my case was important to her firm. They were very responsive in returning my calls and getting documents prepared on time. They even came in on Saturday to finish up some documents that needed to be prepared for a deadline. Very impressed! Anita is a caring, exceptional family lawyer. She is quite knowledgeable in her field and I would highly recommend her.

While this was one of the most difficult experiences of my life, Whitney Vaughan made the process very smooth and calmed my nerves even from the very beginning. While I would never wish my experience on anyone else, if they find themselves in my shoes I would highly recommend using Hoppes & Cutrer, LLC to represent you. Thank you for all your hard work on my behalf.

I know these fine family law attorneys from a personal and professional level. I am also an attorney and practice civil litigation and have used them as a resource many times and have referred them many cases. All of my clients have commented on how thankful they were for the referral. I highly recommend them for all your family law issues.

Hiring Lisa was the worst decision I've made! She is highly overrated and extremely expensive. If you are thinking about hiring her I would think again. If you do choose her for you attorney I would pay close attention to your invoices!

Just had a consultation with Anita. She was very nice and knowledgeable! She told us how serious the issue was and what we should, and also, what we should not do. Let her convince you that she is the lawyer for you.
