I'm a photojournalistic photographer. While I always have poses I suggest, my main goal is to make people comfortable, because that makes the best photographs. I don't interrupt loving moments unless it's an emergency. Although I carry a busload of equipment to every shoot, I try not to influence the vibe you're creating.
My husband and I are both introverts. The worst part of the wedding was being the center of attention, and I got horrible stage fright right before. If I were to marry Matt again, we would pick an epic location at the top of a mountain, with a beautiful vista, and marry each other right at sunset. Eloping, in the past few years, has had a resurgence.
The best photos happen when a skilled artist knows their subject well. Engagement photography lets me do that. I get to know your quirks, your best features, your personalities, and your story. Knowing that really informs how I take photos the day of the wedding, how I interact with you, and what kind of photos we end up with.

Maternity photos are amazing. You're at a time in your life where everything is about to change, and, especially with your first, there's an awe-infused tension that surrounds a couple about to have a baby. I always encourage people to take pictures at significant times in their lives. Not just because I'm a photographer.

I cannot say enough great things about Mercy. I liked Mercy's personality from the first email, but I could not have imagined what a perfect photographer she would be for my big day. She was efficient while remaining flexible. I hate group photos, but Mercy made them easy while still getting perfect shots of everyone! I didn't notice she was there most of the time. For my engagement shoot, my then fiance (now husband) was asked to make me laugh so we could get "candid" shots. Please do not even hesitate going with Mercy for your next event/photoshoot. She beautifully captured my husband and I's graduation photos at Yosemite National Park. Mercy was so great to work with and I would recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat! She is so kind and genuinely cares about her clients. Within our short one-hour time slot between daylight and sundown, she captured my husband and I in various lighting and our photos turned out absolutely stunning! Matt, Mercy, and their team were just phenomenal at our wedding held at the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach. We hired them for our wedding video. They worked well with the photographer that was another vendor. I didn't even notice they were there and captured everything so well. The video turned out amazing! So grateful for them and their dedication to our day. We really liked that they wanted to meet us and get to know us before the wedding day. Our wedding was on September 26,2020 during the middle of the pandemic. As you may imagine, it was a very stressful time and Mercy was absolutely amazing to work with from start to finish. She was very professional and timely, made the effort to get to know my fiance (now husband) and I, and showed she genuinely cared about our wedding. We used Hasselblad Studios to film our wedding ceremony. The quality of the video was outstanding and looked like a movie! This is a screenshot from our video, it could very well be a professional still shot! They provided all the raw files from our day and sent the full video within hours after the ceremony. Everything was very professional and vert budget friendly! Highly recommend!
