My passion for photography began as a child, after college I was a documentary photographer based in New York City. That experience and my love for children and babies have really inspired my photography, as have my young twin daughters who are a joy to document! Walking through my own home each day, I pass two large framed images of my daughters that were taken when they were 2 years old.

I was born and raised in Minneapolis, lived in New York City for many years, and am now happily ensconced back in the Twin Cities as a single Mom to my amazing twin daughters. Since I can remember, I have been passionate about photography. From my disc film camera when I was a little kid, to my well-documented college years, as a stringer for the AP and Getty in NYC, to documenting the aftermath of 9/11.
This is best done between 28 and 36 weeks when your belly has popped but you aren't too swollen and tired. Gowns and fabrics are provided for the session. I highly recommend getting hair and makeup done before the session. Partners and children are welcome to join and be photographed as well. All printed items, except small gift items, include the corresponding full-size digital image with a print release.
Every session starts with a conversation. The fastest way to reach me is through my contact page. You'll have the option to set up a call, or I'll respond the same day to follow up. Once booked, you'll receive a client portal introduction, contract, and welcome packet with everything you'll need for your upcoming session.
The maternity session is really wonderful. Often we don't feel our best when pregnant, but you will be amazed by the beautiful images we capture. The best time to photograph your maternity session is at 7 months. Please book ahead so that we can plan your wardrobe and order any additional gowns as needed.

Watching Lisa photograph our newborn with such ease and care was such a calming experience for mom and baby. As a mom of twins herself she knew exactly how to keep our newborn happy and cozy and calm. The studio was beautiful and comfortable for mom and baby. When we saw our photos we were blown away, our baby looked like a little doll! The pictures are absolutely stunning, maybe it’s the new mom hormones but I cried when I saw them. It was an absolute delight to work with Lisa.

My family had an awesome experience during our one year old photo session with Lisa. She demonstrated patience, professionalism, kindness and the utmost care for us. When my daughter was crying almost through out her photoshoot and my 3 year old was running all over the place, I was ompletely overwhelmed and worried that we may have much time to take more photos. She offered to have us come over the next to complete it and to me, that was impressive and yes all the pictures came out so beautifully. I would 1000 percent recommend her and you will definately have a great experience. Thank you Lisa

We had a great experience with Lisa Poseley Photography! She was very flexible with scheduling and ordering, we didn’t feel pressured to pick out photos right away like our experience with another photographer, but rather we were able to take our time and review photos on our own time and then meet (virtually!) to pick out what we wanted. In terms of scheduling, Lisa offered guidance about time of day with lighting & I would recommend listening to her - she has a much better sense of what to expect & she was totally right about how the light at the time of day we needed for our schedule would

Some photographers shoot, shoot, and shoot hoping to get a great shot. Lisa watches and waits and nails it. The shots she gets are so true to character and the clarity pulls you in to the point where you question reality. What’s more, she’s fun to work with! I personally really like her and my boys were totally comfortable with her taking their photos. She has a way of keeping the relationship personal, but the work professional. We are so happy with the phots she captured of our boys and will definitely use her for our photos in the future.
