Services
Prior to becoming an attorney, Jeanne served in the U.S. Coast Guard, attaining the rank of Senior Chief Boatswain's Mate before retiring after nearly thirty years of both active duty and reserve service. While in the Coast Guard she served on cutters and at search and rescue stations, and was a law enforcement instructor with PACAREA Training Team One.
Criminal Convictions May Prevent Foreign Nationals from Obtaining Legal Status in the U.S. Interviewer: All right. Today, we're joined by Jeanne Morales and today's topic at hand will be the impact of criminal behavior on immigration status.
Jeanne Morales: Regardless of how somebody achieved legal status in the United States, it's extremely important for them to be aware that every time they encounter law enforcement, there's a possibility that that can be used against them to strip them of their legal status or even prevent them from ever achieving it.

A Drug Charge in a State That Has Decriminalized Marijuana Will Still Impact Immigration Status. Interviewer: If someone is in Colorado, for instance, and gets a DUI that has marijuana involvement, will that affect their immigration status? Jeanne Morales: I believe so because in immigration law, possession of marijuana paraphernalia conviction for them is a possession of marijuana conviction.
Those two crimes are treated the same, but they're an aggravated felony regardless, and that can get you deported. Not only that, in most cases, you're going to be subject to mandatory detention. Until your situation is resolved with the immigration judge, you will have to spend all that time in immigration detention and you will not be eligible for a bond because you are an aggravated felon in their eyes.
Drug-Related Offenses Can Present Challenges When Trying to Maintain an Individual's Immigration Status. Jeanne Morales: There are people who cannot alter their lifestyle. They commit crimes, and there's not going to be any help for them. But I think the one area that people don't realize the ramifications are offenses that have to do with drugs.

It took 5 years to get my disability approved and there was some humps in my case along the way but I was approved at the last appeals court which I understand is hard to get a favorable ruling. Im sure my case was a difficult case considering my age so Thank you for fighting for me. Thank you to Elvira for being so patient with my many calls and questions.

I had a very great experience today with Jeanne. She was very attentive, very caring and listened without any interruptions. I feel very at ease with her help and guidance. Only thing I didn’t like was the receptionist. She claimed I didn’t have an appointment, and the next 2 people that came in, she also claimed they had no appointment. Other than that, I highly recommend her!!

In August 18 2020 i visit this Attorney asking for help in my case. The next i call them that i was not going to do anything no more. They did not do anything at all and now they don't want to refund at least part of the $1000.00 of the deposit. This is totally not a professional service. Besides that i had to call them more then 4 times and today more then a month to tell me that they can not refund any money.Really poor service. I will never recommend this attorney to nobody.

I paid the lawyer $3000 upfront to handle a custody case for my son. Not only could she not get her facts straight, but I needed to point out all of the errors she repeatedly made while preparing for our case. She put me on the stand and spent the first 8 minutes going over my history as a professional and no mention of the reason we were in court. When it came down to the abuse aspect at hand there was no time to present our sons case and the neglect I witnessed. She didn't even have enough time to ask my son questions and he was the key witness to the abuse and neglect of his children. We
