I'm a brand and wedding photographer calling San Diego, CA home. I moved to sunny SoCal last summer from Milwaukee, WI all because of my lovely husband and his career with the Navy. I've switched out my snow boots for flip-flops and am loving every second of sunshine! I've been photographing love, life, and brands for a decade.
I began assisting local photographers and through countless learning moments (I refuse to call them failures haha!) I grew into Dawn Silva Photos as of 2015. It's safe to say that I LOVE connecting with and photographing people. I truly enjoy creating an experience in where you feel comfortable and empowered to be yourself!

I am a San Diego Wedding Planner and I recently had the pleasure of working with Dawn. Dawn was amazing to work with! She did such an incredible job getting all the stunning photos on the wedding day. The bride and groom absolutely loved her! Not only did the bride and groom love her but I loved working her too! She was so on point with the timeline and great at listening plus she was super fun to work with! Also, I cannot begin to say enough about how incredibly talented she is! All of the photos she took at the wedding were INCREDIBLE! I highly recommend hiring Dawn as your photographer!

Dawn is AMAZING!!! Everyone loved getting photographed by her - she has such a warm presence and always had a smile on her face.
Dawn photographed my influencer event this past weekend at the Paradise Point Resort & Spa. Communication was always a priority for her - she asked for me for a wish list of photos taken that day and she made magic happen! She sent me all the edited photos with a 2 day turnaround! The photos were GORGEOUS!!! She has such an amazing eye for detail and captured beautiful candids. I cannot wait to work with her again!

Dawn is an amazing photographer! She's fast at communicating, professional and so kind! Her work is gorgeous! We have used her for two events and plan to use her in the future as well. I'd put off getting family pictures because they seem to often turn out too cheesy or posed. I couldn't be more pleased with the natural moments Dawn was able to capture of our family. I'm impressed with the nice shots she was able to get considering we have a squirrelly 18 month old and a newborn! Thank you so much, Dawn!

Dawn is an amazing photographer that sees the beauty in even the smallest details. We basically planned every aspect of our out-of-state wedding through email and phone calls and dealing with Dawn was by far the best! She was so friendly and easy to talk to and even made it work to take a tour of our venue with us when we visited -IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER! We had a great connection with Dawn and she really helped us put our minds at ease with all the wedding nerves and her positive attitude made taking all those photos fun and worth it! Our wedding day was a hot one but she had a smile on her face

Definitely top pick for photographers, So easy and fun to work with, I helped with florals for a Beach event in Del Mar this past September. She was so positive about not having the sun shine for us and working with multiply shots just to help all the vendors be at ease with setup. She truly captured amazing images that were sent to me within a few days. I am very Pleased to have Dawn's work as part of my portfolio.

I cannot speak highly enough about Dawn and her photography! She photographed my grandmother's 90th birthday and fit in so flawlessly that everyone forgot we had a professional photographer there, and she captured some very touching moments (both posed and not posed). Dawn was so easy to work with and very responsive. I would highly recommend Dawn if you're looking for a photographer!

We could not have picked a more perfect fit to do photography at our wedding. Dawn went above and beyond what we had hoped to find with her fun personality and incredible talent for capturing moments that tell a story. Her eye for details and natural shots make for the dreamiest memories when you look back at pictures from the day. My fiancé and I had our engagement photos taken by Dawn. She traveled to Chicago to where we got engaged. Even though she had not been to Lincoln Park before, she found the best places to take our pictures that we would not have been able to find on our own! We had a blast with her as she took our photos - you can tell because we are laughing in almost every picture! She did an amazing job capturing the joy and love in our relationship. She quickly delivered our photos a couple weeks later and I have not stopped looking at them since! I have gotten so many compliments on her work and cannot wait
