Our experience and understanding of divorce and family court law in Maryland and Washington, D.C., make us your ideal attorneys during this difficult time.

The ability of a family attorney to treat each case differently has tremendous value because not every case needs to be high-conflict or litigious. Identifying the disputed issues and problem-solving requires an open mind from the parties and a productive approach by the attorneys involved. Family law touches every single person.
Services
As a life-long citizen of Montgomery County, Maryland, Spencer Hecht has been immersed in the community since attending University to Maryland School of Law assisting families, both young and old, going through the most challenging times of marital separation, divorce, and disputes regarding child custody.
Jonathan Stepanuk graduated from the University of Maryland A. James Clark School of Engineering with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, Jonathan worked as a defense contractor near Naval Air Station Patuxent River in St. Mary's County, Maryland supporting Naval Air and Naval Sea platforms.
There are many facets of family law, including, but not limited to, divorce, custody disputes, spousal support or alimony, child support, contempt, enforcement of marital settlement agreements, interpretation of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, guardianships for children, disabled and elders, protective orders involving domestic violence, third-party custody, and modifications to custody and support orders.
It is hard to imagine a more painful and challenging process than separation and divorce, especially when there are children with all types of needs and conflict within the home, as well as assets to support two households post-divorce. At Hecht & Associates, LLC, in Rockville, Maryland, we understand how high the stakes really are.
In a Maryland divorce that involves a spouse who is not self-supporting or a large disparity between spousal incomes, family law judges may decide that alimony or spousal support is appropriate. If spousal support will be an important issue in your divorce, make sure you have an experienced divorce attorney fighting to protect your rights and financial interests.

Repeatedly rebuked by judges for irrelevant and repetitive questions, came to hearings so unprepared my ex texted me to taunt me about how bad my attorney was. After a horrible performance, forced me to settle under duress by threatening to quit. Turns out that is attorney misconduct. Judges did not seem to like him, which I also felt hurt my case.

He's very persuasive and empathetic the first time you meet him. Do not be fooled. Another commentor wrote he preys on single moms. That was my experience.

Spencer Hecht and his team are the best value for a divorce, even a contentious one. The knowledge of Maryland family law, litigation processes and human nature that Hecht brings to your case will facilitate your case's closure much more quickly than would be possible with a different lawyer. My only regret is that I didn't discover this law firm sooner instead of investing in an attorney who was insensitive to my financial and emotional situation. Anyone going through the stress of a divorce would benefit from hiring Hecht and Associates.
