Brown Insurance Inc. was established in 1936 at 6 Market Street by George Brown and decades later upon his retirement was operated by his daughter Elizabeth Brown Shank until her passing in 2007. Mrs. Shank transferred the ownership before her passing and in 2007 and we began doing business as Brown Insurance Agency, LLC.
In 2012 we moved our office location across the intersection to 182 N Mechanic Street. We are believed to be the longest continuously operating insurance agency in the tri-state area with over 80 years in business. Our staff has combined overall experience of nearly 80 years as well. Our customer service representative, Jane R. Hughes, has been with Brown insurance for over 45 years.
