I am our office's Practice Administrator. I love working in the dental field, and have been since 2003. I am the go-to girl for insurance and any question regarding insurance. I love working for Dr. Magelsen and Dr. Andelin because they truly cares about their patients and staff. I have been married since 2004 to my husband, Joel.
Thank you for choosing Stanwood Dental Care for your oral health needs. As a new patient, you will initially see Dr. Magelsen. All new patient visits include a review of your medical history, a comprehensive oral exam, oral cancer screening, periodontal charting, and full mouth X-rays. Dr. Magelsen will determine the type of hygiene visit needed and discuss any areas of concern before meeting with one of our dental hygienists.
A focus on preventive dentistry helps you maintain the highest standard of oral health while limiting dental expenditures. A partnership between you and our team pays dividends, protecting your smile now and well into the future. At home, prevention may include brushing and flossing twice a day. But many strategies and oral health aids exist that may fit your situation even better.
Dr. Shawn Magelsen grew up here in the Pacific Northwest. After high school he spent two years doing mission work in Brazil and upon his return went to Brigham Young University where he received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology. He chose Temple University in Philadelphia to study dentistry and received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2003.

I love these guys! I’ve had Dr. Shawn help me with botched fillings from previous dentists, fix a chipped front tooth, and do some cosmetic work to one of my canines. He does great work! I love the receptionists, they are always friendly and offer up periodic gifts to clients (I won a drawing for a Easter basket one Spring which I thought was pretty neat). The hygienists are super caring and easy to chat with as well. Nothing but great experiences over the last few years.

Been coming here for years. I used to hate going to the dentist office. You won't feel that here. You will get five star treatment all the way. The staff is amazing and works wiht your schedule. The bi-annual cleaning is a must! I recommend Sara, Kelsey, and Annie, I have had them and they are the best. I never feel any pain and they know how sensitive my teeth are. They take notes, if you are not satisfied the first time, give it a second try as they need time to adjust to your specific needs. Each person is different and I guarantee you wont be disappointed! Extremely recommended dental office
