Services
I am a psychotherapist and body centered therapist in private practice with over 20 years experience in the Chicagoland area. My work is influenced by my empathic nature, intuitive healing, Somatic Experiencing and Touch work. As a resourceful consultant and compassionate speaker in various environments I draw upon these roles to educate people who have experienced trauma in their lives.
Parenting is hard work! You might feel overwhelmed and not sure what to do to make things better. You get frustrated when your child acts out in anger. You feel disconnected when your teen responds to you with eye rolls and attitude. You are worried about the poor choices they are making and wonder if your child might be depressed.
I have experienced much freedom in my life, and my passion is for you to experience it too! Freedom from the burdens and the wounds that hold us back in being the people we want to be and were created to be. I believe we are made for relationships, specifically to have the kind of relationships that are joy-driven, mutually respectful, and thriving.
I am committed to helping you find and develop freedom and resilience to deal with everyday life and past childhood trauma and abuse. So often life experiences are traumatic and stressful contributing to struggles with depression, anxiety and inability to function. I work from a somatic and body centered and psycho-dynamic approaches that meets the needs of teens and women with childhood trauma, addictions, anxiety and eating disorders.
My therapy is influenced by my belief that there is a universal human experience yet each person's experience is uniquely their own. I love the unfolding nature of the therapeutic process and actively come alongside people as they discover themselves and journey toward a state of greater well-being - mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

Our first poor experience was with “Emily” who took our med info and verified benefits, claiming we would be scheduled w Dr Rivas, as she would call to schedule us herself. After a week, we called again to schedule and “Emily” was no longer w the center. A new receptionist, Amber, informed us that Dr Rivas was no longer taking patients. Dr Rivas called back at our request and recommended Dr Hayden who was in the same office. We would have to wait 6 weeks and that was 100% understandable. After four weeks without
