Pioneers of the trenchless industry have come together again at SAK to create the new leader in underground solutions. See highlights of our long industry involvement below! Bob Affholder, who in 1968 started the tunnel and boring company, Affholder, Inc., brings his passion and values to drive SAK's culture.
In 1982 Bob had the foresight to purchase the first mid-American license of the Insituform process. Bob took the company public as Insituform Mid-America in 1987. The company rapidly expanded acquiring additional territories to become the largest Insituform licensee in North America. Insituform Mid-America later merged with Insituform Technologies (now Aegion) where Bob served for 10 years as Vice-Chairman and on the Board of Directors.

The sturdy structural liner at the heart of SAK's trenchless water distribution renewal system, CIPP Pressure Pipe Lining is helping communities nationwide save time, money, and their environment. GeoKrete is a proprietary factory blended, fiber-reinforced material enhanced with a monocrystalline quartz aggregate.
GeoKrete is a proprietary factory blended, fiber-reinforced material enhanced with a monocrystalline quartz aggregate. It provides corrosion resistant protection in high hydrogen sulfide environments, increases structural integrity and stops the infiltration of ground water in deteriorated structures.
It takes an expert to know one. And SAK experts work with the world's best manufacturers of CIPP materials. With founders of the CIPP industry on-board, our experience spans over 20 years and 30 countries. Our suppliers of high-quality polyester felt tubes and resins ensure that SAK cured-in-place pipe meets ASTM F1216 standards for inversion and curing.
Water and wastewater systems both rely on pressurized pipes for a variety of uses. And when pipes are pressurized, they need to be able to stand up to both internal and external forces. That's why SAK uses special types of CIPP lining to renew pressurized water and wastewater pressure pipes ranging from 6 inches to 48 inches in diameter.

What kind of company starts scheduled maintenance on a sewer system and doesn't let the customer know? Notifying you by a flyer on your door stating work is scheduled to start 5-21 at 2pm... IT IS MAY 21ST and past 2pm... It's a lovely flyer saying: keep bathroom uses to a minimum, no bathing, no laundry and do not use dishwasher. Work SHOULD be done in 8-10 hours... oh yeah and the enjoy the sounds of a giant truck running right out side of your house. The last 3 hours I have been home have been amazing. Trying to cook with minimal water usage... and in every room of my house I can hear the truck
