At the time, GBS (the franchisor) was owned by The Dwyer Group, based in Waco, Texas. General Business Services was a provider of tax and business counseling services to small businesses and professionals. Its sister franchise (also owned by the Dwyer Group), E.K. Williams & Company, specialized in write up, payroll and tax services for the petroleum industry but also provided those services for other small businesses.

I engaged Carolina Tax and Accounting Solution (formerly C-Accounting Solutions) over one year ago to do forensic accounting, re-file several years of taxes, and file new taxes. I paid $3000 to this firm. I called repeatedly over the year and asked for updates. They never produced any work or got anything done. They refused to call me back. Because of their failure to produce anything I was unable to get health insurance under the ACA for 2 years for myself and my family. They repeatedly called my elderly mother, who is a partner in my company, despite my requests they do not call her and speak

Worst possible experience you could imagine. I had them as my accountant for a little over two years and they did little to nothing. I paid a $125 monthly fee for them to keep my books on a monthly basis. Found out at tax time last year that my books weren't up to date like they said. I gave them all my tax papers in early February and it took them until August to get them done because it took them that long to get my books up to date. They assured me that things would be different from there forward. Well, this year same thing. I had all my tax papers to them by the end of February and found out
