These guys are the WORST!!!! The owner is completely RUDE. 3 times when I made an appt they made me wait hours to get in. They were not able to diagnose the problem correctly. They detached my 12V plug where is no longer worked. The owner has no clue what he is doing. He treated women like my wife horribly. Mostly I just wasted hundreds of dollars there and ended up getting the work fixed elsewhere. COMPLETELY clueless when it comes to diagnosing. Also too busy to actually listen to you. See reviews from others that mention the owner being an as__hole rude!!

These guys are so real and have such big hearts!
They helped me look over a few used car options that I was considering buying and gave me incredible advice and feedback, for no charge, just pure kindness, wanting to help me out.
After I decided on one car and bought it, they looked it over and did the work and my car drives like new right now and I am beyond happy I lined up with these guys!
Highly recommend!!

I would give less than a 1 if I could this shop does not know what they doing. The owner is rude and does not address the issues you are having your car. I made an appt a week in advance when I got there I was told it would be 4 hours or more before they could get to it. I had driven in from out of town. That not only happened once but twice. Then they never fixed the problem. Mostly the owner is one of the rudest people I have ever met. And he kept starting and restarting my car wearing down the stater and it did nothing to address the actual issue. Rude, does not keep appts, condescending.

I had a good experience with these folks and thought they were knowledgeable and doing a good job to accommodate us in the midst of their busy Summer Season. I had several procedures done 3 separate times and discovered their pricing is far more reasonable that what the other shops typically charge. And they also are willing to work on your older vehicle I noticed in those three visits, and a lot of repair shops won’t anymore. This is a tough business and this shop has a lot of happy local clients and I am one.

I Took my f150 here after hooking the battery up the wrong way( previous owner put red cable on negative terminal) and taking it to another mechanic. another (unnamed) mechanic immediately upon arrival said it was the fuel pump no doubt about it right away and gave me a runaround of how he'd have to do both of them for $600 without doing any diagnostics. Thankfully I took the truck to southern oregon automotive because that was not the problem, the problem was actually the Electric control module which had blown a couple diodes. They also fixed a couple of other electrical issues under the hood

These are the best mechanics in Ashland. Fairly priced, KNOWLEDGEABLE, they call you back, make appointments on time, tell you everything you need to know, repair your vehicle better than expected and usually faster and they are HONEST! I was quoted a cost for something that 'Donny' explained to me over the phone. I told him to go ahead with the $600 repair. When I went in to pick up my truck, it came to $37! What he'd thought was wrong wasn't and all he'd of had to do was hand me a $600 bill and I would have paid up. Think about that one. Anyway, that was about 5 years ago and I've been coming

Your hometown mechanic is someone whose opinion you value and whose business ethics you trust. Please consider allowing Southern Oregon Automotive to fill that roll if you ever find yourself in need of service or repair in Ashland, OR.
My son's vehicle fried a radiator (see review this page) and while he was letting it cool I offered to locate a mechanic. When I called they said to have him bring it in and they would help him out.
Over the years as I was transferred to new commands in the service I have broken down in various cities and was taken to the cleaners. There was none of that

My father-in-law gave us his 1991 Suburban and there was an issue with the acceleration that my husband could not figure out. He asked many of the other auto repair places around Ashland if they could help and they wouldn't deal with any car older than a 1995 or of American make.
When he called Southern Oregon Automotive, they were very knowledgeable and ready to help us out. They offer a free Diagnostic test on any year, make or model which was great news for us. The service station guys were great to deal with and spoke in terms that I could understand with very reasonable pricing. My
