I am a proud Husband and Father of five children. They give me the inspiration to wake up every morning and be better at the things that I do. My background in photography began at an early age. My youth was filled with photographing the moments in my family. I started with film camera models such as the 110, 126 and disc.
But it was not until my Father gave me a Minolta Maxxum camera that it became more that just random family pictures. My formal photography education began in high school and continued through college. I have owned a wonderful portrait studio in the past. But it was not until I started photographing on the beaches of Hilton Head Island that I found my passion.

Services
Portraits are available a la carte, no packages are required. All images include retouching of your family and removal background objects such as other people on the beach. Your finished beach portraits will be the same wall portrait quality seen on this website. All images on the website were photographed by me.

Our children are small for such a short amount of time that capturing their childhood is something every parent desires. When you arrange for me to take your children's portraits I will capture the pure innocence of their spirit in a way you've not likely been able to do yourself. My trained eye, the passion I have for photography, and the high quality equipment I use provides me with an advantage when I'm capturing moments to preserve in time.

My family and I recently vacationed on HHI. Since this was our first family vacation in a while, I thought it would be nice to have pictures taken. I was given a list of photographers by our front desk manager. Since HHI photographers was at the top of the list, I thought that this would be a good place to start. I called but had to leave a… voicemail message. The next day I called again but was unable to get through due to the line always being busy. I never received a call back from anyone. HHI made me feel that my business was unimportant to them by not being contacted. For this reason

David took the time to ask questions over the phone about each individual in my family and to discuss what we wanted from the photo shoot. When we arrived at the beach he took time talking to us and getting to know us a little better and we got to know a bit about him too. I think this really made a difference in our comfort level and being able to relax so the candid photos didn't appear posed or fake, we really were having fun! David has such talent! I highly recommend him for portraits as you build memories at Hilton Head! We have had the privilege of his portraits gracing our hallways, bedrooms and living rooms for the past 5 years. Just last week he took pictures of us as a large family, individual families and just the kids. And he nailed it! Another great experience with David!!

David was professional and attentive to our family's requests. He met each of us, then remembered our names throughout the shoot, while giving us his full attention. David's photos captured the light beautifully and his reflection shots were amazing. Our three teenagers were less than thrilled to be spending vacation time getting family portraits done, however with David's warm personality and engaging manner, they quickly changed their minds. We were thrilled to get professional portraits taken while on vacation in Hilton Head Island. I've always dreamed of having an awesome canvas portrait of my family to brighten up our house and now I've got one thanks to David's great eye behind the camera. I inquired about local photographers in Hilton Head to schedule a photo shoot of our family. I wanted to capture the scenic beach and background and David was more than accommodating to us. After not having a family portrait for over 3 years, I was thrilled with all the pictures he captured, especially the ones of our kids. We recently had our second photography session with David at HHI Portraits and were extremely happy once again with his talents. I couldn't have been happier with the experience my family and I had with HHI protraits. I knew David was a perfectionist when he called me several times the day of our session adjusting our appointment time because there were some clouds moving in and he wanted to make sure that the lighting was right for our session. David listened to what I wanted from our session and the final product more than exceeded my expectations. The pictures that he took of my 1 year old daughter took my breath away.
