Nineteen years ago, Jax opened Rainbow Tax & Accounting to serve the needs of the LGBTQ community and beyond! Jax received their bachelor's in accounting from Portland State University. Jax has lived in the Portland area for over 40 years, and has been working here in accounting field since 1975.

Received snail mail in November letting me know that they can't work with me this year. It is too late to find anyone else. This doesn't surprise me as this is the type of communication you can expect from them. They didn't even know I moved, so, it was mailed on Nov. 4th, but, I just received the letter November 16th. I still never received answers since last year that are very important to my business, like, about obtaining a VAT ID.
Last year was a nightmare for everyone and I excused a LOT of problems but, this is ridiculous.

Had a terrible experience with these folks. I hired them to do taxes and bookkeeping for my business months ahead of schedule, and sent them the bulk of my books. I had to check in several times as deadlines approached to ask if they needed various things from me. I called and emailed and they'd respond with something like "we're busy but we'll get to you soon." Three weeks before filing deadline, they emailed me with a simple statement "I'm sorry we're unable to do your books or taxes for you." I was unable to hire another accountant, given they were

I called for help with my small sole proprietor business and was totally ignored at first, calls not returned. This was well before tax season, so I should have gotten a call back. I continued to press for a call, and finally was given a preliminary phone appointment. The CPA was very rude and uninterested in having a conversation with me. I tried to ask questions about next steps, and give her a history of how we have done taxes wih TurboTax in the past and she was very closed lipped and even insulted me for not knowing tax code verbatum. When I asked if I could be taken on as a client

Jackie is extremely fast, knowledgable, and extremely well priced for the quality of service she provides. Rainbow has been doing a great job doing our bookkeeping and taxes for over 5 years. I really appreciate their smart approach to solving the numbers problems that continually crop up in a small business like ours. They bill themselves as "The CFO every small business needs" and they live up to it; anytime a problem presents itself I just throw it to them and they figure out how to deal with it. We've doubled our sales several times since Rainbow has handled our accounting and even expanced to another state and I give them a lot of the credit for helping us do that. Thanks Jackie

Stopped in to this place in our neighborhood to build a relationship and set up possible tax services for our family and our local business. Without any question I was pretty much pushed out the door and told that they were too busy to talk to me and even then they were totally booked up so no help was available. I wanted to say, "well, maybe you should turn off that neon "OPEN" sign if you don't want people dropping in. We met with Rainbow Tax & Accounting a while back and since then we have used a couple other big box services and the whole process with the other places feels like the equivalent to a drive thru window. While financial matters are so personal, Jackie had a way of making us feel comfortable and without stress. She is a fantastic resource, and we will be returning next year.
