What do you get when a meticulous contractor and woodworker builds a house for a meticulous and nitpicky book editor? A house as beautiful and well-crafted as a fine book-a perfect house-at least from the editor's point of view. I never planned to build a house; indeed, doing such a thing struck me as the very definition of insanity.
