To build this type of practice, I knew that my first and perhaps most important task was to build good, lasting relationships with my patients. Far too often, doctors get in too big of a hurry and don't spend time doing this very important step. To me, this makes the patient feel less important and more like a number.
You will begin your visit by having a conversation with Dr. Crews. He will get to know you by asking what brought you into the office today, the history of the problem and your medical history. You'll undergo an exam and digital X-rays (if you haven't already undergone X-rays elsewhere). After studying the imaging, Dr. Crews will correlate the pain you're feeling with its cause.
Back pain due to a herniated or bulging disc can be debilitating. In the past, injections, physical therapy or surgery were the only options for treatment. Today, we have a highly--successful advanced technology, called Intervertebral Disc Decompression (IDD) Therapy, that allows us to relieve neck or back pain in a new, non-surgical way.
Degenerative disc disease is not as much a disease as it is a name for the changes that can happen to the spine as we age. The degeneration of spinal discs may cause no symptoms at all, and symptoms depend on each patient and the severity of their case. Pain may occur at the site of the affected disc in the back or neck.
