My name is Robert Reganyan and I am the attorney at Reganyan Law Firm. I have obtained my B.A. in English from U.C. Berkeley, and a dual JD/MBA degree from Pepperdine University. Our Firm specializes in Adversary Proceedings, Creditor Representation, Student Loan Discharge, Debt Settlement, Business and Corporate Services, and more.
After you file for bankruptcy a creditor is no longer allowed to pursue any collection actions on your discharged debts including contacting you. In fact, it's a federal crime for them to do so. There is no limit to the amount of the debt you can discharge in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Nor is there a minimum threshold of debt that you must have in order to qualify for a chapter 7 bankruptcy.
Bankruptcy helps Debtors get a "fresh start" - by liquidating assets to pay their debts or by creating a repayment plan.
