Wes Hammit, a longtime Madison County resident began practicing law in 2002. Wes founded the Law Offices of Wes Hammit in 2006. Prior to his practice, Wes graduated from Texas A&M University in 1998 and Washington and Lee School of Law in 2002. From 2008-2017, Wes has been named a "Rising Star" from 2008-1017 by Super Lawyers.

If you go to Wes Hammit's web page in the "about us" section you'll see a stock photo of pleasant professional men and women in business attire. I didn't see those people at his office. His staff, though entirely absent from the staff section of his web page--he writes about himself instead, were quite helpful. But back to Wes, his attitude and demeanor were more like Saul from Breaking Bad, and entirely unlike anything you'd expect in a professional setting. He wore hiking shoes and casual clothes while shifting around like a disinterested high school student, at one point slumping in his chair
