I've been going to Bairds for years for various of our cars - mostly newer cars and all of the little things they need as general maintenance. Recently I bought an older truck (1986 F150 4x4). It had sat for over a decade, so needed all of the things. Bairds has done an amazing job. Got her running and running SMOOTH. So I just want to thank the team over at Bairds Automotive for helping my girlfriend and her aunt out. They are traveling cross country to move her back home from AZ to MI. She had an engine light come on about 4 hours into the drive and they stopped in NM for the night. After looking at some reviews she decided to take it here. Not only did they get her in for a diagnosis that same day (every dealership said Friday was the earliest the could see her) they were able to find out that the fuel injector has gone bad. Untrustworthy.
Decided to give them a try so I brought my vehicle in for diagnosis. Check engine light was on, brake light was on, and occasional noise coming from front axle.
Upon picking up my vehicle, they did not check what codes were causing my "service engine" light, did not check my brakes or could tell me if they needed fluid, brake pads, rotors, etc. They disassembled my 4wd hub, and let me drive away with the cv axle completely loose and free hanging. I had to research YouTube videos and re install the internal portions of my 4wd hub at home. (Took me about 15 min)

Be aware, NOT HONEST! I was driving through Las Cruces and found out I have a power steering fluid leak. I looked on line and Baird's had good reviews. I called, and they said to bring it in. I thought it would be something minor, but to my surprise, they said I needed a new rack and pinion assembly. They quoted me a price of $1200. I decided not to do it, and I drove the car like this for over 2 months. Last week, I noticed that the leak got worse, so I took it to a local shop in the Cleveland, OH area. I told them that I thought I'd need a new steering rack, but they wanted to check

My Mercedes SL550 broke down in Demming, NM and had to be towed in for repair. Normally repair work is / was only done by an authorized Mercedes Dealer, however I was assured by many friends that Baird's not only is 55 Tow Truck miles closer to home, They do excellent work. Long story short, they ordered the damaged idler pulley and serpentine belt and as soon as parts came in, had my car ready to go in two hours.
Bonus is the very, very fair pricing for the work involved! Bravo to all the folks down at Baird's and they now have all future business on both of our Mercedes vehicles.

Courteous and professional. I needed a safety inspection done on my new (for me) truck. Everyone else wanted to see it first and would not quote a price to check it out. Now, thanks to Bairds, I know what needs to be done before I can safely hook a load to it. I am grateful they took the time they did to look at everything.

Brought our car in because the cooling fan blades were broken off, forgot my phone in the car, one of the techs dropped us off at home, we did not hear from them for 3 days and they made no attempt to come by to advise us our car was ready, we got a ride from a neighbor finally when we picked up our car the bill was $700.00 when we got home husband checked out what was done, and the fan assembly was loose as they didn't tighten it down, after so many days and so much money, we just decided to never ever go back there again, poor work+poor communication, as they knew what was going on, and

This is absolutely the best experience I have ever had in an automotive business. As a single mother of three boys traveling to Las Cruces my older model car threw a belt. I called Bairds and everything was taken care of and I was shocked at how affordable it all was!!! Greg is a first-rate pro. I used Yelp to find Greg's services in April, as he changed my brake pads. As an Uber and Lyft driver, I have to undergo an annual inspection. I failed due to deficient front brakes. I notified Greg and without hesitation he owned up to the fact that work was done and there should not be a problem with the pads. Yesterday he told me that there was something wrong with the pads that he installed in April, and replaced the pads free of charge. This is the most professional mechanic shop I've found in Cruces after 4 years of living here! No more shadiness at pep boys or anywhere else. I recently had my 92 f250 serviced at this establishment, while the service members were polite the amount charged for labor hours fair, the mark-up on parts was incredibly high. I have several examples below

The truck needed a new radiator Bairds charged 252.09 Autozone would have been 119.00, RockAuto would have run 85.00.
The truck needed a water pump Bairds charged 164.41 Autozone would have been 49.00, RockAuto would have been 40.00 and yes Autozone is the new price, a rebuilt would have only been 20.00.

I was told a few months ago, after I moved and drove down from Washington to Las Cruces that I needed to get my battery changed. I found Bairds and headed in, expecting to take care of that. However, they pressed me for why I needed a battery change and insisted on checking it first. Turns out, battery was totally fine and it was a huge relief that they were completely honest about not needing a new one just yet. At best, it is a nuisance when
the "Check Engine" light comes on,
and you never know if it is
something serious.
Baird's Automotive is good at
diagnosing problems, from a dirty
