Hill's extensive background in sports tourism and management, naming rights and sponsorships, facility development, and marketing includes executive positions with Olympic Properties of the U.S., the U.S. Olympic Committee, Sara Lee Corporation, and North Carolina Amateur Sports.
Major partnerships are essential to the success of premier national events. Sports & Properties, Inc. does not just manage some of the country's largest sports events, it plans and sells the sponsorships needed to ensure the success of those events. For example, for three of the biggest events SPI has hosted - the USA Masters Games and two U.S. Figure Skating National Championships - the company has raised well over $2 million in sponsorships!
The Spring Nationals are typically the largest annual national championship competition in Masters Swimming, averaging almost 2,000 swimmers per meet. The 2021 Championships will be the third held in Greensboro, with previous Spring Championships there in 2012 and 2016, but the first Championships to be able to take advantage of the new fourth pool, a second 50m pool at the GAC added in 2018.
At SPI, interns are an integral part of the team. Our internship program is designed to provide strong benefits to the interns, including extensive hands-on sports and entertainment industry experience. Daily activities focus on both short and long term projects. SPI works with each intern to develop special semester-long projects in areas of interest, which can be used as a portfolio item for the intern in the future.
