At Corinth Chiropractic, Dr. Benjamin Smith, DC has proudly helped people get well and feel better in the Lake Cities, Denton, and North TX for over 4 years, without the use of drugs and surgery. Pain - This is what brings most patients to my office. Most neck pains and back pains are the result of minor shifts or misalignments in the spine, known as vertebral subluxations.
These subluxations can put direct pressure on your nerves and irritate them. This can cause pain, discomfort, muscle spasm, numbness and tingling in your extremities, and other problems. Chiropractic adjustments help to restore the normal alignment of your spine, take pressure off your nerves, and give you relief.

All professions have a history, and chiropractic's is a fascinating one. In order to understand the principles of chiropractic, you must know about its founder, D.D. Palmer. The actual profession of chiropractic - as a distinct form of health care -- dates back to 1895. However, some of the earliest healers in the history of the world understood the relationship between health and the condition of the spine.
Dr. Benjamin Smith was born in Des Moines, Iowa, but moved to Texas by the age of 10. He graduated from Plano East Senior High in 1994 and attended Texas A&M University for his undergraduate studies (Gig'em Aggies!)
He earned his degree as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2001 from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, after enduring an intense program that included studies in orthopedics, physical diagnosis, neurology, chiropractic philosophy, radiology, and an internship that required over 250 adjustments.

There is a lot of unsubstantial bad press about cervical chiropractic manipulation and the incidence of strokes. There are individuals who are at a higher risk for stroke, or other injuries, and most doctors of chiropractic take precautions with those individuals, so as not to cause any harm to their patients.
