Ignored downtowns can once again become tomorrow's thriving centers of commerce and walkable lifestyles. Our job is to acquire key assets, create a dynamic mix of uses, and to identify the partnerships necessary to make it so. We are committed to "sustainability" in every sense of the word. We recycle neighborhoods and spur economic growth that makes our investments and our target communities grow.
Services
Rivermont Capital's investment team is led by Michael Lemanski and Andrew Holton. The founders have built on their combined investment, development and operational expertise by utilizing a diverse team of analysts and strategic advisors with specialized knowledge of the industry.

Prior investment entities led by Michael have acquired and repositioned more than 40 distressed properties with an aggregate market value in excess of $350 million, including a mix of residential, office, retail and hospitality projects. While Michael is best known for his pioneering work transforming downtown Durham, NC's city center, he has been managing similar investment strategies in Danville, VA and Fayetteville, NC.
CEO Michael Lemanski's first engineering job was to clean up a contaminated historic paper mill so that the owner could demolish it. Seeing a lost opportunity to rebuild value from distress, Michael developed a business model that would transform dormant downtowns. He moved back home to Durham, N.C. and spent 15 years demonstrating how redeveloping historic structures can be both profitable and help create a new sense of possibility.
We focus on downtowns that are underperforming their market potential and have low cost real estate assets. We invest in a concentrated, critical mass of properties within these places and commit to a disciplined, master development approach for creating value. Put simply: We buy low; we buy in bulk; and we let data and strategy drive our decisions.
