Services
Our goal is to help all bodies in motion, continue to build momentum. Whether a professional athlete or an office warrior, we all need to move to live healthier and happier lives. We specialize in advances for soft tissue bodywork and postural retraining. Dynamic care is crucial to our approach in reducing pain and retraining the body to function easily and pain free.
Living with continuous body pain from injury, accident, or posture related issues is an experience no one should have to endure. At Myers Therapy we use a multi-disciplinary approach to treatment, based on each of our client's needs. Each client we work with undergoes a series of steps in our comprehensive therapy service.
ART or Active Release Techniques is a patented soft tissue management system that diagnoses exactly what tissue structure in your body is causing you pain and treats it with pin-point accuracy. It works by shortening your affected tissue and placing tension on the adhesion or "knot", and then lengthening the healthy tissues around it, thus breaking the bind.
A: Before each session we map out our problem areas and then get to work. Because we work on myofascial lines we look for the connections between these problem areas. A: Loose fitting workout clothes are best. Tight, form fitting bottoms are very difficult to work through so basketball or jogging shorts work best.

I can not recommend Myers Therapy enough! Matt has helped me work through some serious pain and mobility issues with my body - he is super knowledgable, professional and compassionate. These sessions can be pretty intense, especially when you're working with years of trauma to your body - but I always leave feeling SO MUCH BETTER and literally FIXED.. he also makes sure I have tools or exercises to use at home to continue my healing. GO see Matt!!!

Matt has improved my body from the inside out. I suffer from scoliosis and due to Matt's caring expertise, I am not only able to have a very high quality of life, I am able to compete in my sport and train hard for it! I am 100% certain I would not be able to be as active and pain free (unless I do something dumb) as I have been without Matt's help. You can actually SEE the difference because old pics of me make me look like a crazy hunchback due to the scoliosis but now my shoulders are straight and my alignment is much improved. No one can tell I have it! The session itself will be

I really can't recommend Matt more. I was dealing with persistent shoulder pain that I had tried for the last two years to massage and yoga away. It wasn't working. Unable to sleep one night because of the pain I did some research into therapies that might get to the root of my problem. My search turned up Active Release Therapy and a local search brought me to Myers Therapy. When I say that I am grateful for the grueling intensity of sessions with Matt, I really mean it. He's extremely knowledge about the body and how it works and is incredibly precise and skilled in his craft.

Matt has been working on me for 4-5 years now, and is the best I've ever experienced. What Matt does is not gentle, relaxing massage. Rather, he's working to help your body get back into its optimal alignment. So, it's going to hurt like a mother initially. After that, you'll feel and look so much better. A big bonus is that Matt is a knowledgeable, interesting, bright, friendly guy. I recommend Matt very highly!

This review is long overdue...by almost 2 years! I first visited Matt Myers with terrible back pain which I could not figure out the reasons for. After multiple unsuccessful doctor visits and Physical therapy sessions, I just trusted Matt to do his job since I have heard good things about ART. He is thorough, knowledgeable and knows how to get those kinks and tight knots out so that you can move with less pain.
Now do NOT expect this to be an easy, relaxing massage. If that's what you want, go elsewhere. And chances are, if you are in a lot of pain, those easy massages wont work. Matt uses

Matt is so caring and really just wants to help you keep doing whatever it is you're doing. Which for me is girevoy sport or kettlebell sport. I do a lot of work with my shoulders, back, and hips...they often time get a little angry with me, but Matt is there to help massage them back to health. He helps me to continue to perform at the level I need to for competitions. But, more importantly he just helps me to keep moving! I always feel rejuvenated after a session.

I have been around Fitness and Physical Therapy for 18 years. I have met very few massage therapists with as much understanding and education in anatomy and kinesiology as Matt. He and I have been referring clients to each other for years and recommend Matt as the go to practitioner on the island. Matt is so good, getting an appointment is difficult so don't delay get in there and start your journey.

"Wrestling with a tiger after you just barely escaped a shark attack!"
That is how I would describe the sheer feel-good and aliveness after a session with Matt - without exaggeration.
I have gone to Myers therapy for minor injuries or misalignments from canoe paddling and/or graduate school. I left completely renewed each time. Not only does Matt take great care to explain what has contributed to causing an issue, but also provides invaluable tips on how to prevent them in the future. This also includes advice on how to augment your own exercise repertoire. Matt's long-term orientation

Amazing! Matt Myers is a superhero. Tell him where it hurts and he will fix it. The fixing part is going to hurt, but he will fix it. Not only that, but he explains how to keep it fixed with stretching and exercises. He genuinely wants to help you allow your body to perform to its highest potential. He is both professional and casual which makes for a really comfortable environment. I highly recommend Myers Therapy!
