Services
A dental cleaning is a professional cleaning you receive from a dentist or dental hygienist. Most dental cleanings take only between 25 and 30 minutes. Cleanings should be performed every six months to prevent excessive plaque buildup. Plaque left untreated can lead to unhealthy gums and tooth decay.
A native of Utah, attending USU, U of U and BYU (game days are nerve racking) and a graduate of Washington University of St. Louis School of Dental Medicine, I have spent my professional career in Sandy, Utah. My wife and I have 5 children and one of the most extraordinary grandsons that you have ever met, and one more on the way.
Our office is open Monday through Thursday, with hours that can accommodate most any schedule. We know that your time is important, and we work to ensure that your visit happens as professionally and quickly as possible. Dental emergencies are never convenient or timely. At David H. Thorup Family Dentistry we are committed to your dental health no matter what time of the day or night it is.

Dr Thorup has been my dentist for years and has always been the best dentist ever. I was not happy with my smile and after my consultation with him decided to go with the porcelain veneers. I couldn’t be more pleased. The staff at his office are always so nice, and I feel like I’m going to visit friends. I am so happy with my smile I will post this without makeup, and highly recommend Dr Thorup and his highly professional staff.

I've been going to Dr. Thorup for more than 15 years and have been continually impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of his entire staff. I had composite veneers that were only supposed to last 4-8 years, and they were in great condition 15 years later. He recently made me porcelain veneers, and they look great! I highly recommend him.

Dr. Thorup is an excellent dentist. His staff are all wonderful! Years ago when our daughter had a basketball accident after hours that broke her front teeth, Dr. Thorup came into the office and saved her teeth! We have been regular patients for many years. I’ve been going to Dr. Thorup for over 20 years. The environment is immediately inviting and calming. The contests and drawings add such a fun and friendly feel to the office as well. Dr. Thorup is an extremely skilled and talented dentist, and your comfort is his #1 priority.

Dr. Thorup has been my dentist for many years, and he and his staff are very friendly, thorough and gentle. They explain how medications and health issues can affect your teeth, and also explain if a necessary procedure is being done. I have trusted him with my oral health and highly recommend him and his staff to anyone .

Dr. Thorup and his staff do excellent work in a friendly and fun atmosphere. Dr. Thorup has been my dentist for many years; I am always satisfied with not only his excellent work, but the advice and council he has given me regarding my dental health. I was afraid of the dentist as a child, but now I look forward to my checkups, and I'm at ease when I need cavities filled. I know Dr. Thorup and his staff will take good care of me because they care about me.

Dr. Thorup has been my dentist since my kids were little (I now have a great-granddaughter), and 2 of my 4 kids still take their families to him. He and his staff do excellent work and are great to work with. If there were more than 5 stars to give, I would give them! I feel very fortunate to have him (and his great staff) as my dentist.
