Worse property management. Physical altercations and harassment from the Supers they hire for their buildings. Getting anything rectified is like getting pins and needles out of a hay stack. If you have a problem they love to give the run around. Terrible customer service. If you see 5 stars- they were paid reviews.

The job of a property mgr is to collect tenant payments. How they can get that wrong each month is beyond acceptable! Their credit card option charges a $30 transaction fee each time which is absurd!!! Why do I have to pay more money for you to accept my payment?! In addition, I think their office should be investigated for fraudulent practices. I have suspicion from personal experience that their tenant information is being compromised. A recent check that was written to them was found circulating with altered forgery - reported by my bank!!

I dealt with directly with the President Josh K. I found him to be extremely nasty, sloopy, and just mean. He seems extremely incompetent to be running a management company. If you read 1 review on this page, here is the most honest. Some companies you just do not want to be involved with, both Josh and HSC are one of them.

I'm without words after living in one of the properties HSC manages for six years, and will be selling in large part because they simply refuse to take care of their tenants/owners and I can no longer deal with the lack of responsibility, Please don't buy any of their properties, please don't bother interacting with their employees, please save yourself the time and hassle and buy or rent with any other company. HSC management doesn't deserve to receive one star they love to threatened tenants from several buildings in Harlem with their fake lawyer tactics trying to make you leave your apartment so they can continue to steal money from the landlords and coop boards that don't know any better. Michelle is one of the biggest Crooks in the office stealing tenant payments that are mailed in. I honestly would give this company no stars if it were an option. They are managing the building in which I live, that is completely roach infested. No one has done anything to help me besides the super. Josh Koppel, the president, is extremely short in emails and unprofessional. When asking a very direct question, I do not recieve a direct answer. They are good at nothing besides collecting rent. And they are barely good at that as the online portal log in for me does not work. I'm leaving my building so HSC and my landlord will just have to sue me for the rest of my lease

This has to be one of the worst landlord/management companies in NYC. Our building has lacked heat and hot water many, many times during winter. When we call the super, the super does nothing and just says, "Call the office." When we call the office, they generally either do not respond, or are rude. The problems have persisted despite countless 311 complaints, phone calls to elected officials, and the like. Illegal construction, lack of permits -- you name it.
Property owners: If you want to turn your entire building of tenants against you, hire HSC!

HSC Management has been hired to manage the building that I live in starting January 1, 2019 in spite of their 1.5 star rating... They are quite poor at managing, in my opinion... On March 4th, 2019, there was a fire in the building's laundry room in the basement... All I've gotten from Keith S. when I would contact him (when he chose to reply to my e-mails) were nothing but excuses... Here we are, 2 days shy of going on EIGHT MONTHS LATER, and there is still no working laundry room AND there are no self-service laundromats

HSC Management sucks !! Poor Service -
I live in one of there units and I accidentally lost my only building keys
and now it been almost three months and I am still waiting for them to sent me the building front door key.
No one replies to the email/calls - they told me its back order and we waiting from the supplier to deliver to them (excuse) - How can someone cannot have any humanity towards someone - I have been waiting for hours and hours to for someone to let me in.

The business of serving as a building's managing agent is a challenging one. The margins are small and the work consists almost entirely of dealing with irate people! HSC has managed my building for the last half decade and I have found Josh Koppel to be responsive, helpful, and knowledgeable. He sends me emails on weekends! He has been proactive for the building with extermination, bedbugs, ADA access, and other important issues; he knows the innumerable laws and codes that restrict the "here, let me solve that in a heartbeat" strategy that most tenants and shareholders assume

To any potential renters reading this... DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT lease an apartment managed by this horrible and incompetent company.
We were the first tenants to move into a BRAND NEW building in winter of 2017. The apartment has had so many issues, major and minor, and no one ever resolves them.... they just keep getting worse. Not only are the issues matters of total inconvenience, but they are fire and electrical hazards.
It started with handles falling off of every cupboard and drawer in the apartment. Cheap AF fixtures and appliances. Not that big of a deal, but pretty annoying

This company is so awful, I had to write a second negative review. Now, almost a year later from exited our contract with HSC; the board has had to deal with a multitude of obstacles. HSC closed the properties ConEd account, so as to make it costly and somewhat difficult to re-connect. They mismanaged our funds. Did not handle building citations efficiently; costing the property thousands.

Where do I even begin? When they took over, they fired the sweet, helpful old super for calling ConEd directly - instead of them - when he smelled a gas leak. As a result, it was fixed immediately. How dare he be responsible and try to save lives! They missed a golden opportunity to cover up and/or ignore the potentially fatal incident entirely. Then they fired the next super, also a very nice, helpful guy, for dealing with tenants directly instead of through management. God forbid our live-in super talks to us and is available when we need him!

Ugh, just, no. Responses to emails are untimely and EVERY time I call, I am put on hold forever. And when someone finally comes back to me, they tell me to hold on again. Then, when someone finally tries to "help" me, I am left with "Sorry, I can't help you with that, you have to call so-in-so in __ department." Then, when I call that department, I get no response. I used to get monthly paper statements in the mail for my maintenance bill. Then they suddenly stopped coming, without reason.

Created fake checks from my deposit checks. Took many tries to get a move-in deposit back. Honestly, just another NYC management company being shady and slow. No better or worse than the other companies out there. However, one person that works there is very sweet and tries to respond quickly. Only reason I gave this company 2 stars v. 1 star.

The listings that they source provide apartment details/requirements, but when it comes down to talking lease terms, suddenly the details change.
Do yourself a favor and do not pursue any listings that this "management" company works with. Stay away and save yourself the
