Hinson Family Law
As a husband and a father, I know how important family is - nothing matters more. That also means that problems within your family are particularly difficult and can easily become overwhelming. After years of representing clients in divorce, custody, child support and other family matters, I understand the legal issues involved and the importance of making sure everything is handled the right way the first time.

I founded Hinson Family Law because I wanted to create a law practice with a clear emphasis on the client. A practice that can help you with any issues that arise within your family, from helping you preserve your legacy and provide for your family when you are gone with a thorough estate plan, to helping you navigate the difficult pathway through separation, divorce or custody matters.
Services
Divorce is the legal process used to end marriage. Divorce itself does not address issues of custody, support or property division. Rather, divorce simply changes your legal status from married to single. Divorce in North Carolina is not fault based, in fact your spouse does not even have to agree to the divorce.
Child support refers to money that is paid to provide for the health, welfare, and education of minor children. Child support amounts can be determined by the court or by private agreement, and can be enforced or modified in various ways. It is important to recognize that the child support obligation exists whether or not an agreement or court order exists, and parents cannot waive their own or the other parent's obligation to provide support.
Collaborative Divorce is a process that people can use for divorce, child custody, child support, property division, and any other outstanding disputed issues between them incident to their separation. It will keep you in control of the terms of your divorce or custody plans, and it will keep you out of the courtroom.
The death of a loved one is always a difficult time, which no amount of planning or preparation can truly control or diminish. However, a well-prepared estate plan can reduce some of the burden and stress associated with the transfer of assets after the death of a family member.

A thorough estate plan also anticipates and provides for unexpected lifetime events that can diminish assets or prevent one's ability to make important decisions, such as incapacity, serious illness, long-term nursing home care, or guardianship of minor children to name but a few. Before defining the term estate planning, it can be helpful to put it into the proper context.

David will take your money for a consultantation and after you hire him, he disappears. He doesn't return phone calls, emails, or show up for court. Don't waste your time or money!
