I'm Katie, the proud owner and lead photographer of Katherine Nicole Photography. One of the best parts of my job is getting to know the couples I photograph and I think it is important that they get to know me because getting in front of a camera is hard! Building trust and familiarity with your photographer is essential to creating beautiful images that truly reflect who you are.
A: I am a documentary style photographer with an artistic eye. My goal is to document your wedding in the most authentic, genuine way in the most beautiful light. I strive to capture laughter and tears, while also taking time to create lovely portraits, family formals and bridal party photos. For portrait sessions I aim for natural interactions and casual poses.
While sessions can be scheduled anytime, Spring of Fall are the recommended seasons for their superior weather and light. We start about two hours before sunset and continue until the light is gone. If inclement weather prevents a session we will reschedule at the earliest convenience for all parties.
I will start the day with you wherever you are getting ready. I will photograph any details you would like, followed by candid photos of your hair and make-up process. Be sure to have your hair and make up team set up near a window, with your chair facing the window. This will give the best light for both your photographer and the make-up artist.

When my husband and I first reached out to Katie on her availability for our 2020 wedding, we were particularly drawn to her candid shots and ability to capture the life, emotions and movement of the event and people. When we spoke with her, we instantly felt at ease. Her prices are extremely reasonable. She was flexible with her packages and happy to adapt them to our needs. Hiring Katie was a no-brainer.

Preface: Katie is shortlisted as a wedding photographer for our venue. We didn't do engagement shots since we live in SoCal. (We negotiated the inclusion of a photo album in lieu of the engagement session.) Katie is a star photographer. We didn't do engagement shots but she instantly made us feel comfortable the day-of during our couple portraits. She clearly communicated how we should pose and made adjustments throughout to make us look our best. She politely and effectively managed our friends and family during group photos. As a bonus, she removed a bee that had flown up my wedding dress! Overall she was personable and super efficient about getting so many great shots in a short period of time. We love our wedding photos and highly recommend Katie!

There are a lot of choices when it comes to choosing a wedding/event photographer. We had a wonderful experience and beautiful photographs to prove it with Katie and her assistant Morgan. I cannot say enough good things about Katie! You spend a lot of time with your photographer on your wedding day and I honestly enjoyed her company, creativity, joy, and professionalism. I used Katie as my wedding photographer this past May and was more than pleased with her work. I honestly can't say enough nice things about working with her. We just received our entire album and I am truly impressed with the pictures that she took on our special day. Katie was really responsive through email leading up to the day of the event. Katie was awesome. My wife and I are not huge on getting our photos taken and Katie made the entire experience fun and enjoyable. The photos themselves were great - a good mix of posed shots for the grandparents and candid shots of people rocking out on the dance floor. Katie also did a solid job of stepping in when she needed to but also blending into the background and letting us enjoy our special day.

This review is long overdue - I absolutely recommend Katherine Nicole Photography to anyone looking for a photographer. Katie shot our wedding and our engagement photos; both experiences were more than I ever expected. From her website it's obvious she takes beautiful photos (she has an amazing understanding of light) - what isn't as easily portrayed on a website is how she is as a photographer. She is so sweet, very easy to work with, organized, and knows the logistics of how to successfully and efficiently shoot a wedding. During the "posed" photos she provided great direction

From our first interaction with Katie to the wrap up of getting our cd of photos she has been such a pleasure to work with!! If I could give her 10 stars I would! Both my husband and I were very impressed with her portfolio, professionalism, promptness, genuine personality and above all her LOVE for photography!
