Monterrey Mexican Restaurant features authentic and traditional Mexican dishes. It is a family owned and operated business. Our distinctive menu offers classics such as our famous tacos, burritos, enchiladas and sizzling fajitas. Our combination plates along with newest recipes are by far the best in North Fulton.
There is one thing that Monterrey is especially known for and that is our famous Margaritas! La Skinny Margarita is our signature premium Margarita made with El Jimador 100% Agave Tequila. Monterrey pioneered some of the finest Margaritas in the last decade. Our Margaritas have become a "must taste" for visitors in the Roswell area.

I really like Mexican atmosphere they have. Nice cute tables, attractive bar. On top of that you get friendly staff and very good portion sizes. Almost everything we tried was delicious and fresh. The only thing we didn't like - oversalted Ramen soup (btw, what is it doing in Mexican restaurant?).
Therefore 4 out of 5 stars, which is very good. But there's always something to do better.

Terrible waitstaff and very discriminatory practices! You can look at all of my reviews and I never ever pull the race card, but clearly there is something amiss here. My hubby and I have been here quite a few times because we love the Paella and the margaritas. Well this particular evening we arrived, and was barely greeted by the hostess. It was an unusually warm day, so we opted to sit on the patio. We took our seats and our warm chips and salsa was brought out quickly. It took approximately 30 mins to be greeted by a server who after watching several other tables get seated after us, acknowledged

I havenβt been to Monterreyβs in awhile. My family used to frequent there often prior to the pandemic. I called to make a pick up order and the lady misunderstood me about the order. When I went to pick it up, she was rude and argued with me saying I said one thing when I said the other. Very poor experience with customer service. I will not be returning.

Very good traditional Mexican food and service.
I had the hankering for steak ranchero so we went in search of a place near our temporary place and found this. We had a late lunch / early dinner and were greeted and seated right away.
The chips and salsa were spot on - as was the queso. The steak ranchero was decent and my wife enjoyed her Parilla chicken. We will be back!

I can't think of an experience that went any worse. While the food was hot when we eventually got it, the service was just atrocious and the place wasn't even crowded. Our party was treated with such disrespect that I won't be eating there ever again! And our guacamole was terrible. Mushy - Tasted like it was made a day earlier and smothered with lemon/lime juice to keep it from turning brown.

Saw the good reviews and thought we give this place a try. Extremely disappointed in the food and service. We came on a Thursday afternoon right before 5pm and there were about 3-4 tables in the main dining room. They placed us by the bar. We ordered burrito supreme platter and Texas fajita. Food was incredibly bland and meh. No real taste or flavor, even for basics like beans and rice. Lettuce was unappetizing brown, fajita had more onions than meat. The tortillas that came with the fajitas were so dried and stale that it was tough to chew. More like gnawing than chewing. Would have been passable

***TRIGGER WARNING-DISCRIMINATORY BUSINESS PRACTICES ****
Very disappointed to find out this restaurant charged me, a Black woman, 15% gratuity on a lunch tab for a single patron. First, let me be clear. I love to tip with a gratuity range of 20-50%. However, when that CHOICE is taken from me, I can't help but question why? Is it because of the dollar amount? No, couldn't be that. I've had $200 tabs at Stoney River and HOLA Mexican Catina, and their servers did not add a tip. Also, my tab at Monterrey's was fairly low due to it being a lunch order. So was it the amount of

Boy oh boy. At a bit of a loss for words on this one. Let's start off with the outrageously long menu. The menu took me 3 business days just to go through. You'd think with a diverse menu, that they'd be packing some heat. But as unfortunate as their food, that wasn't the case. I got the enchilada supreme. Let me tell y'all, I rarely don't finish my food. I'm a hungry boy who likes to chow down. I didn't finish the enchiladas. I couldn't.
The enchiladas were SMOTHERED in cheese. I felt like I was going to choke at any given second. And then out of

I ordered Togo. I had the lamb quesotacos and it looks better than it tastes. Needs more seasoning and meat had no texture to it. I drove 40 minutes away and waited over 40 minutes for it and it's not worth the hype. My grandma ordered the Ramen noodles and they had the audacity to give us a ramen noodle bowl that can be bought at your local grocery store and made us make our own food for $14 smh you all ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

As always great food. However, I'm concerned about their Social distancing practicing. We went there and were seated directly behind another party. There were only 3 tables occupied at the time. Then they seated a 3rd party right in front of us. So there was a whole empty restaurant and three tables with customers seated all less than 6 feet apart. My friend and I immediately got up and moved all of our food to a table on the empty side of the restaurant. I did not see any other COVID concessions that this restaurant had in place. Will definitely not be going back during the pandemic!

Food was great, and the interior design was very unique. Lost a star for the staff attitude, I only had an appetizer and whiskey and was treated accordingly by management. Especially considering how empty the store was, I didn't understand why the hard looks π€·π»ββοΈ
But seriously check out these lights. They are the absolute coolest thing π

Monterey's dΓ©cor and tables are much nicer than the Mexican restaurant we routinely frequent but the seats and the paintings aren't the main focus of any restaurant, the food is.
As far as atmosphere, the music started off pleasant but soon became loud and insufferable. However, it was rare surprise to have dinner in a restaurant at primetime without the usual crowd noise. I did not have to use earplugs.
I am sorry to report that there is really nothing special about the food at Monterey. The biggest disappointment for me was the absence of potato burritos, enchiladas, and tacos.

YUM!
My husband and I were driving along this area of Holcomb Bridge Rd, (at St. Eves in the Kroger center) and decided to stop for lunch. I quickly checked Yelp and noticed a number of not so favorable reviews. Upon further inspection, I noticed that those reviews were very dated so I disregarded them. Recent reviews were much more favorable so we decided to give them a chance. Although we arrived a few minutes early, they were opened. We were quickly seated and reviewed the menu. I decided to try a gordita from the appetizer menu and a side of refried beans. This way, I would have plenty

SEAPRISE TREAT: An early supper that began as a slight disappointment, ended with full satisfaction. Let me explain...
I stopped in, on the way home to sit out the traffic, to a nearly empty restaurant. Understandable, given the time of day, but I waited at the front desk for about 3 minutes before someone came out from the back and asked me if I wanted table. Not a big deal, but started my Spidey senses tingling.
Having found the establishment online and reviewed their menu I knew what I wanted to eat. Once I was seated and the server came over I promptly rattled off my request, only to be informed

My son has visited Monterrey a couple times and he brought me here because he knew I liked south of the border food, and this food is south of the border. I've eaten at a lot of Mexico type food places, had the homemade batch of tamales. I like that everything is freshly made. The enchiladas trio is tasty!
Oh yea, the 22oz beers hit the spot!
Try this is Roswell food, you won't be sorry!!
