Went to Corpus for a mini vacation with my family. On our way to dinner my back breaks went out. I took my truck to TC the next morning in hopes of getting in on the holiday weekend. I was in need of a state inspection and I had originally went to another location where the customer service was terrible and they said it would take 2 hours to be seen. My dad recommended TC Auto and I am SO happy I went there! I walked in and was greeted warmly and they took my car immediately and were done in 15 minutes. I had my new-to-me car inspected at TC auto. I called and the gentleman was more than happy to explain what their complimentary 42 point inspection was all about as well as their complete inspection that was $159. Wanting to make sure this new (used) car was safe I opted for both inspections.
Within a couple hours I was sent a detailed list of things from their courtesy inspection that needed repair along with photos. And soon after received a phone call with the details and he was happy to help with any questions I had.
My reasoning for a missing star was I asked for the details on the $159

I went in for an annual inspection. I was running late due to traffic I was so sure they weren’t going to take my car in. I apologized and the girl at the front was so sweet and reassuring! The environment was clean, welcoming and organized! The service appt was fast, and staff was very professional! Definitely going to be my go to place for vehicle needs! Highly recommended! I usually go to Christian Brothers to get my state inspection done but they're going through new owners and didn't have the proper computers/equipment to do it. They suggested I go to TC Auto Service and I'm happy they did! They were very nice and professional. AND QUICK. A few years ago, I was trying to go to Firestone for my inspection and they were telling me it was going to be a 2 hour wait! With BOTH of my cars getting inspected at the same time, even with a lot of cars on their lot, looking like it was going to take a while, TC had me in and out in about 20 minutes! Would definitely recommend

We were down in Corpus Christie for some beach time on N Padre Island. We hit a pothole evening before we plan to go home. On the way home from dinner, we can hear something rattling in the right front and brake pedal went to the floor. Luckily we can still stop. Searching Yelp, TC Auto Service had great reviews an was only 1.1 miles away from our hotel. I got our 2005 Honda Accord to TC Auto next morning as soon as they opened at 7 am. I described my issue to the friendly staff and left the vechicle with them. Although they do have a spacious waiting room, they also have a free shuttle service

Everyone from the phone call to ask questions to the gentlemen that received my vehicle to the staff at the counter was amazing. They were polite, quick, friendly, and very accommodating. I asked about the time if I wanted to add a specific service and one of the guys behind the counter jumped up and said "I can do that before they inspect your vehicle", but it was too late, the inspection guys were quick. But he managed to get it done quick when they hit back. Definitely a strong competition to my usual place. The speediness and friendliness may win them over tho. I'll definitely

I wish I would have found them sooner. The workers at the front desk are respectful and professional.
My personal experience:
Took my card to get my inspection. Quick and seamless.
Next experience: went in for an oil change and mentioned that my car had been leaking. They changed a plug out for me and didn't charge, which was a big blessing.

TC Auto repair is like the old time auto repair shops and that is a high compliment. They care about what you want and are fair and straight forward. I have had a substantial amount of work done on a classic vehicle by them and it has been amazing. It feels like being at friends garage talking about the repairs and what they suggest and what you want. If you are looking for a cookie cutter 10 minute shop with no interaction this may not be the place for you. If you are looking for people who care, have personality, and will make you feel "part of the family" look no further.

My spark plug blew out of my truck. I know exactly how to do the repair, however I live in San Antonio and long story short was forced to seek out a mechanic. The part to fix it is only $20 in total, and any decent mechanic could easily do the repair in under an hour. I was charged $200 for the job. I understand that they are a business not a charity and they do have to make a profit however I feel that this is an overcharge. I feel strongly that it could've been done and still been very profitable for around $150. Also they left my check engine light on and were quite frankly not the most

This shop upcharges like no ones business. They make guesses, and usually expensive ones, as to what could be wrong with your car and then charge astronomical rates to go on their hunches. I made the mistake of taking my car there twice, wracking up 2k+ in bills. Only to find out when I took it to another mechanic in corpus, that half of the stuff they "fixed" didn't need to be fixed. I also told them everything TC had done and the mechanic informed me that it shouldn't have even cost half of what they charged me. This shop does good work when they actually do fix something

I was recommended here by what I would say is the best transmission shop in Corpus Christi Ace Transmission I specifically told them not to change a particular part in my car I already knew that that would not fix the problem they changed that part anyway to the tune of about $900.The car had the exact same problem It had when I brought it to them ,they did offer to look at it again free of charge but when I came to pick it up they told me what they would have to do was going to be about another $800 needless to say I just took my car back home found another mechanic to put in the part that I thought

We've had the misfortune and pleasure to have needed our vehicle repaired 3 times and used TC Auto Service. Before then, we'd been taking it to the dealer (yeah, I know, we live and learn).
If I had to base my rating on the "first impression" of the staff there, this score might've been one notch lower. They're kind of to-the-point kind of people. You explain the problem, they take your keys, off you go for a while.
Okay, that said, HERE's why the 5-star. After our experiences with dealership repairs and almost EVERY return comes away at LEAST $500 poorer
