Allies In Hope Counseling
When working with clients, I see people as unique individuals who are trying to find their own meaning for their lives and a purpose in life. Through therapy we can learn so much about ourselves and our goals which we might not even be aware of up to this point. Part of my belief in therapy is centered in the idea that each person is capable of reaching their desired self or achieving self actualization.

I believe individuals and relationships are trying to find their best possible versions of self. In my practice I emphasize promoting communication and emotional awareness. I strive to create a safe environment to explore difficult situations and insights with each person. You are the expert about your life and you are allowing me the opportunity to be a part of it for a length of time.

Whether this is your first counseling experience or the tenth, starting the process can be confusing, scary or intimidating. Here is a breakdown of what to expect when starting the counseling relationships with me to help ease some of the nerves. Setting up a session is the first step. When scheduling sessions, my staff and I try to work with your schedule and mine to try to find the best time possible.
Individual sessions for adults and children are conducted as a one-on-one session with the therapist. In our sessions, we can address a number of challenges from life transitions, to parenting, adoption, relationship conflict and inner conflict. I work with each person to create achievable, realistic goals designed around your specific needs.
Couples experience many moments in the life of a relationship, some where they might even need help. Feeling distant from your partner? Worried the children are the only aspect keeping you together? Want to get back to how the relationship was in the beginning? Looking to protect against relationship troubles now?
As a trained marriage, couples and family therapist I believe connections, change and successful development can occur when the family participates in therapy together. I view "family" as a broad term used to include parents, children, grandparents, aunts, friends, partners (current or former) and anyone who is included in the support system of the family.
Circle of Security Parenting is an 8-week long relationship based parenting curriculum designed to enrich attachment between parents/ caregivers and children. Parents and caregivers attend the classes without their children offering an opportunity to explore not only the adult's relationship with their child but also their understanding of attachment.
