Evidence of healers and physicians performing manual manipulation of the spine can be found in ancient Greek and Chinese history. These manual manipulations were believed to cure many ailments, not just those related to the spine. It was not until 1895 that D.D. Palmer performed a spinal adjustment on a partially deaf man named Harvey Lillard.
Chiropractic can treat not only back and neck pain, but is also treatment for other ailments such as allergies, PMS, headaches, and more. Other common treatments include sports injuries, auto accident injuries, and pregnancy care. Before we can treat you, we must first evaluate what treatment you will need.
What conditions do chiropractors treat? Doctors of Chiropractic (DCs) care for patients of all ages, with a variety of health conditions. How do I select a doctor of chiropractic? One of the best ways to select a doctor of chiropractic (DC) is by getting a referral from a friend, family member, colleague, or another health care provider.
Your spinal column or 'backbone' is made up of 24 vertebrae: seven in your neck (cervical spine), 12 in your midback (thoracic spine) and 5 in your lower back (lumbar spine). Your spinal cord, made up of billions of nerves, lies inside your spinal column, protected on all sides by bone.
Your spinal cords nerves branch out through openings between your vertebrae and connect to your internal organs, muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons and other body parts. This connection is vital for your well-being. The vertebral subluxation complex, an often painless spinal distortion, can irritate or damage your spinal nerves, interfere with your brain-body connection and affect your spine, nerves, discs, muscles, organs and overall health.

After seeing many physicians about chronic back/ neck pain and headaches and getting no answers except that it was all in my head I finally decided to try the chiropractic route. Without knowing the exact spots of my pain Dr. Chaney we able to tell and feel right where my problem places were. He spent a generous amount of time with me and did a very thorough explanation of what he found. I highly recommend this office and trying the chiropractic route to anybody who is just as skeptical as I was.

We have been seeing Dr. Chaney for nearly 12 years for "tune-ups" as we go. He not only adjusts you, but he understands the science and medicine behind what he does, and can explain it to you too. He was a huge blessing when pregnancy hormones would get me so out of whack that I literally couldn't turn my head. Mikey and the other office staff are great as well! We even continued to see him for adjustments (when possible) when we were living out of state in Ohio and Missouri.
